Would the greddy RB25det SMIC upgraded intercooler cool air as well as a medium sized FMIC?

a sidemount will never get as much airflow as a frontmount, even with ducting its going to be less efficent as a real frontmount.

The only real downside to the FMIC is the added pipe length and the airflow it blocks to the radiator. Depending on your goals a SMIC might be a better choice for you, but a FMIC is going to be much better for high HP. Plus they look bitchin if your in to that kind of look.

I think the pipe length is the same. But yeah it could slightly block the radiator flow, but it hardly happens, i've never had cooling problems.

pipe length is significantly longer if you are using the stock intake manifold because it has the cold side has to turn back around and go to the other side instead of just going down a foot to the SMIC. There should still be some pics on the members ride section of my car if you want to check it out.

not where you live it dosent haha

its a real issue, a large FMIC, iron block inline 6, and 120 degree air tempratures.

Do you currently have an RB20 swapped?

yeah, I have had the rb20 for almost a year now. It was originally installed as an auto, last month i got it converted to manual. so now i am looking for a little more power. I am looking into an ecu since i am still on the auto ecu. then intercooler upgrade and possibly rb25 turbo and 444 injectors. nothing crazy. i want this car to have good power but not so much that i risk damaging the motor.....my wife would kill me if i blew this motor:)

Is 150 for this greddy sidemount sound like a good deal?
