i have the RS on my blacktop...just finished the swap 2 weeks ago. I am only running 7psi right not, and you can definetly tell the BOV was designed for much more. It doesnt just flap open but chatters due to the low boost... its like a tshh tsh tsh tsh... idk i cant really type sounds...but anyway i love it, get it!

A bov is a bov. they are so simple that is hard for a manufacturer to screw it up. Coming from GReddy you know it is going to be descent. I have one and i run about 16psi, dumping to atmosphere and it works fine. NO complaints.

I've got one on my sr. I don't have any complaints about it. But to be honest I don't have a lot to compare it to. I'd go for it.

I have a greddy rs vented to atmosphere. Works great and sounds insane blowing out 20psi. I love it. I suggest buying it b/c it sounds a lot more agressive than the type s. My favorite bov is the hks ssq though. That sound is amazing....you know, the sound of a seal getting clubed to death. Either one is great though.

Is it like a pretty rapid fluttering sound, like "Chiffchiffchiffchiffchiff" ?

You certain that's not compressor surge? maybe the BOV is adjusted to only open at a range somewhere above 7psi

that's EXACTLY what i was thinking.

you guys really need to check out the abilities of a BOV before you pick one. somebody mentioned the SSQV, which is simply designed to be loud. it also happens to have about the WORST compressor surge on the market. the VERY best designs to combat compressor surge come from the OEMs, like Mitsubishi and Nissan. problem is they can't hold much boost. if you're running a stock or any other wet floating bearing type turbo, you really need to find a valve that offers nearly 0 compressor surge. and if you're at stock boost, stick with stock. it's almost the best out there, and you already have it and it's cheap if you don't. Sport Compact Car did a nice article on BOV's a while back, try sportcompactcarweb.com and see if it's there. the GReddy Type-S scored the best for aftermarket valves @ about 17psi if i remember correctly, and the SSQV had about as much surge as not even having a BOV. can we say "bye-bye, non-BB turbos?"

the rs is the best sounding blow off valve on the market, imho, but only if you dont like the squeaking noise that half the other ones on the market make. some people like the squeak

yea i heard your mom likes the squeak

I bought the Greddy RS, also have the stock bypass valve. If I hear surge on the RS's lowest setting I'll remove it till I turn up the bewst.
