I know for a fact that pulleys for the KA24DE frees up to 10hp. But I also heard on this forums that the GReddy pulleys for the SR20DET does almost nothing in terms of HP gain.

I would like to know if the GReddy pulleys are worth the money. If not, I might as well spend the money on an oil pan instead.

Spend the money on the oilpan anyway, and forget about the pulley set.

What is the benefit of the larger, baffled GReddy pan?

I am really curious what is the HP gain from the pulleys. I know that Pulleys free up to 10hp on the KA. If I remove the stock clutch, the increase will be even greater.

There are two advantages to the larger oilpan. Number one, it is larger which only really becomes an advantage when you realize that the stock oilpan is really small. Like almost dangerously small.

Secondly, it's baffles which will keep the oil close to the oil pickup and out of the corners of the pan when cornering. Imagine for a second you're heading toward a light to make a left hand turn, and you cut the wheel hard and give it some power to throttle through the turn. By the time you straighten the wheel out at the end of the turn, you've probably had the oil pushed to one side of your pan for a good three to five seconds. Now imagine that your a bit low on oil, and your cams aren't getting lubed, nor are the pistons getting oiled for that 3-5 seconds.

Will that wreck the engine? Probably not the first time it happens...

Okay, I found out that the GReddy pulley set only replaces the steering pump, water pump, and alternator pulleys. These stock pulleys are really light already. So no point in wasting money on those. If the set comes with the main crank pulley, it would be worth it, though.

My money is safer with the oil pan to protect my invesetment. The pan comes with new screws. Plus the fact that if I install a new pan, my gasket will be reapplied, that means better insurance and I dont have to deal with oil leaks after the engine is IN my car.
