Ok, so I'm writting this to find out if anyone else can share my experience. I had my car running at 11 psi with my safc II and greddy profec II ebc. I installed the z32 maf and 370cc injectors and went to go get the car dyno tuned. While on the dyno, I tried to up my boost(being a small,tiny t3, I can rech 15 or 16psi no problem),got to 230 rwhp and 260 lsb of torque and the ebc shorted. It is completely fried. Now, I had this ebc for a month and it worked fine. Am I crazy, or is this the type of s*#t one wouldn't expect from greddy?Needless to say, I beyond pissed off! I'm calling Greddy tomorrow to see what they'll do for me. Can anybody relate to this?

ebc = electronic boost controller

i would be extremely pissed if i had spend 280 bux on an ebc to see it fail within two months. I havent really heard of the profec 2 shorting out cuz i know quite a few locals running it. also not to stray off topic but what timing are u running?

I bought the profec from a friend with a sentra when it was a month old. I check my knocking with my SAFC II and I'm not(so far). The profec doesn't get any power. I just can't get any power to show in it. I even tried to plug it straight to the battery to see if I got power, but nothing. I can see a resisitor that looks fried. BTW, what should my timing be @ 12psi?

well ur total timing i think should not exceed 20 or 22 but i personally have no way to tell my total timing. as for the base timing, i run 13-14 degrees and im running 12 psi. I might bump it up one degree to maybe fifteen but thats only if i see some dyno time. i would only being doin it tho cuz i would like my torque to be bit higher. As for the resistor thats fried, i guess that answers that. i would try to see if maybe a loca shop or greddy themselves could advise ya on that matter

I thought the knock sensor was just a guideline.Not really true...But if it is showing max then you have some.Looking through SAFC manual now, thought I read it in there....

Here it is page 39.Quote from safc manual "Due to the characteristics of factory knock sensors,a knocking level may be displayed as a LOWER value even in a situation where damage is being done to the engine from knocking or improper combustion processes!This is only to be used as a reference.
