i have an Rb25 with greddy intake plenum and Q45 throttle body in my 90 s13. I know my stock throttle cable is going to be too short and am going to buy another one. What is longer? DOHC s13 one or s14 cable?

My factory S13 throttle cable works just fine with the GReddy intake manifold and the Q45 TB. Will you post a picture of your engine bay to help me better diagnose your problem?

i have a SOHC throttle cable. which is much shorter. It almost reaches but id have to put it across the valve cover which i think looks bad. i want a longer one so i can run it around the valve cover and under the intake manifold if at all possible

can you post pics of your setup?

Hey Stupied (eh?) said s14 cable would work, let me put it in ABC terms for ya, S14 has DOHC motor, S13 has SOHC motor, O **** wait I forgot your still in first grade- DOHC =( double over head cam) SOHC = (single over head cam) That means the s14 cable is longer........ Jesus man get your head out of your ***!!!!!!!!!!!

First off, you need to chill out and quit acting like a 12 year old. This isn't a honda rice forum for you to flame in.

Second, he said his throttle cable didn't reach and wanted to know his options. I know that the S14 reaches across the valve cover, which is what he explained he didn't like.

Last, to answer the question at hand, you can search recent content and it has been covered within the past couple of months by CarlH. In summary, go to Home Depot and get some braided steel wire and use new cable ends.

Darius is right, you are coming across as an ***. If you don't have a helpful or nice hints or comments, then just don't comment. There was a time that we all had common rb questions and didn't know any of the answers. Best way is to research and ask before wasting time and money which he is doing. Isn't that's what the forum is for?...to ask questions and give out helpful advice.

Also you should know that 91-94 s13's had a dohc, so don't say "s13 sohc, s14 dohc".

Hey DETurbine, haven't seen you on here for a while! I heard you met up with cdorhout at the ice cream cruise in omaha this summer. I'm for sure heading out there next summer!

As far as the S14 cable reaching, it reaches, but not without either laying it across the valve covers or bending the cable around the intake manifold which makes the cable look akward. By the sounds of it, lilskyline240 wants it to look good and function properly.

lilskyline240: Did you make sure and flip the Q45 TB upside down? Because when using the GReddy intake manifold you should flip the TB upside down so that the accelerator cable connects towards the passenger-side of the car, rather than it connecting closer to the motor (driver-side) if the TB were installed right-side-up. I hope that didn't confuse the crap out of you.. bigthumb

You're an idiot and you should not be giving advice when you don't know what the hell you're talking about.

HAAHAHA go **** yourself!! you obviously know nothing about 240sx you assmunch. Get the hell out of my thread. Where the hell did you even come from anyways? You started posting here like 2 weeks ago and now you tryin to act like you know ****? when you dont!!!

you better reread your damn post cuz you obviously dont know what is goin on. the s13 in 89 and 90 had a SOHC motor yes. In 91-94 it has a DOHC motor!! IDIOT!!! also DOHC stands for DUAL over head cam!!! not double over head cam!! IDIOT AGAIN!!! i was askin if there is a difference in length between the s13 dohc cable and s14 cable!!

thanks Darius and DETurbine, this guy has no clue what hes talkin about. Look at his old thread he started claiming 400hp on stock injectors and turbo. lol and hes here tellin me what i dont know?

i want to run it under my intake manifold so it looks alot cleaner.

I hear ya on running it under the intake manifold for a cleaner look. That is another small detail that I overlooked for this winter's upgrade.

i was sick of my SOHC throttle cable over my valve cover on my Ka24de swap too.

so does anyone know if the s13 DOHC cable or s14 cable is longer at all? or are they the same? Im guessin even the s14 one will have to go over the intake manifold

maybe a custom throttle cable is needed?

I'm pretty sure the S13 dohc and S14 throttle cables are the same length, don't quote me on that though because I'm only assuming. And the S13 dohc throttle cable is long enough to fit under the GReddy intake manifold and still reach the Q45 TB, so therefor you will not need to fabricate a custom throttle cable.
