hi guys..

I have always wnted a GReddy oilpan because it is good looking and comes with new screws and such. It is also not very expensive.

But is it really necessary? My engine is from a clip and it won't have a dented oilpan. Also, it doesn't have any leaks, so I don't need to replace the gasket and thus, no excuse to upgrade.

Besides the fact that it stores more oil and allow the oil to stay in the center during cornering, is it really necessary?

Many high hp drift cars in Japan use the stock oil pan and has no problem, this lead me to believe that I shouldn't need one too since my car won't see any extreme acceleration and extremely hard cornering to actually cause oil starvation.

Is it worth it? It looks really cool....

Someone around here was drifting bottomed out, dented oil pan, oil starvation drifted again, and holes in the block. So its up to you but its a saftey issue. (saftey of your engine)

yes, well at least the stock oil pan can dent, the cast aluminum greddy pan can only chip and shatter...

I still have one though, and don't assume that just because your engine is from a clip that it will have a good pan. My engine was from a clip and my pan was dented as fook...

I agree with Jesse on that one. I would rather not starve my motor of oil when autocrossing/road racing...

your reasons are valid and IMO it is well worth the price they want. More oil is a good thing.

I think you can find it for about $200 - $250.

I am probably not going to have enough cash during my install to put on the oil pan. Do you guys think that if I want to replace the oil pan after the engine is in my car, the oil pan would come out without the need of removing a bunch of stuff???

Do you know what I mean?

I would definitely splurge a lil and put it on before the engine is in the car. It will save you alot of time and hassle that will come with changing it out later. I might be wrong and it isn't that bad to do it just seems to me that i would rather do it while the engine is out.

Install the Greddy oilpan while you have the motor out. Piece of cake! Suck it up and buy one...like everyone said more oil is better!

all you'd have to change is the oil...and a gasket, or gasket sealant.

Yes, it would be simple - even if you do it after the engine is installed.

GREDDY oilpan compatible with every generation SR? Enjuku advertises it for all 3 generations, but phase 2 only says s13. Or is it that there are different ones for each generation? I have an s14 SR and want a larger capacity Greddy oilpan. Does it really fit them all? Am I really screwed unless I pop for an ARC or something?
