I was just wondering what I would need besides the Greddy SR intercooler kit and an HKS SSQ bov w/flange to make this setup work properly? Does the Greddy kit come with everything I would need as far as piping is concerned, or would I have to purchase extra piping? And lastly, which Greddy intercooler kit should I use for an S14 with an S13 SR swap? Thanks for any input you guys can give me

You will need the hotpipe if you are not using the factory hotpipe.

Use the s14 intercooler.

You can use any BOV with your IC. you just need to weld a flange to one of your pipes for your BOV.

Are u running a Greddy intake? If you are you will need a different cold pipe.

Thanks guys. So all I will need is an S14 Greddy intercooler kit, a Greddy hotpipe to replace the factory rubber hose, and the HKS bov w/flange? Sounds easy enough

Do you mean the greddy intake manifold? No, haven't got around to getting the manifold yet, been hearing more cons than pros lately...

Shoot, another question guys...which hotpipe should I go with? One for an S13 or S14 SR?

whatever the motor is... if you have s13 motor then go s13 hotpipe if s14 then do s14, i would go ahead and get one with an hks flange on it so you dont have to weld or have welding done. (if hks is the BOV you want to use)

Thanks again. Sorry for all the questions. It's just that most parts are labled as being per S13 or S14 applications and I never know if they are referring to the motor or the chassis.

Hey.. don't listen to nismodave.. he is WRONG.

If you have an s14 with an s13 SR, you need to use the s13 FMIC kit!

Also, the easiest and most convenient BOV setup is to retain your stock s13 hotpipe and buying a BOV with a pipe like this:

That way if you decide to change BOVs you can just buy another BOV with pipe and not have to weld on any flanges or anything like that. You also don't have to buy a pricey aftermarket hot pipe.

If you do decide to purchase an aftermarket hot pipe, then get an s13 hotpipe as the s14 sr20det hotpipe is different.

Good luck man

If you buy a hot pipe you should buy a mild steel one because I almost bought the greddy aluminum hot pipe but no one has TIG welders around here so if you buy an aluminum hot pipe just make sure you know someone or someplace that has a TIG welder... and if your looking for mild steel hot pipes heavythrottle sells hot pipes with the flange already welded on for about $120.

From Phase 2 Website..........

* Please choose the right model when ordering. For 'Hybrid Swaps' (ie. S14 chasi with S13 motor, etc) choosing either S13 or S14 FMIC kit based on motor or chasi will still require some level of piping modification. Although choosing the intercooler based on motor most of the time the cold pipe will work, but slightly bad angle.

I have a s13 motor in my s14 and I used the s14 kit.

The cold pipe is something I had to mod.

But when I did a swap on a friends cAR (S13 INTO A S14 ALSO).......The IC he bought (s13) did not fit as well behind bumper.

I have a friend who has an s13 kit on his s14 with s13sr. It fits pretty good.

Also, my other friend who did a swap for a customer of his bought an s14 intercooler kit for the s14 with s13sr, but had to make some major mods to the cold pipe (s14sr throttle body is parallel to the ground whereas the the s13sr one comes out at an angle).

Can you clarify? Do you mean it needed trimming? If so, most front mount intercoolers will require trimming of the bumper.

Haven't added a front mount yet but as far as the BOV question goes, you can buy the kit from heavythrottle.com or enjukuracing.com(319.99 from enjuku). Comes with the complete BOV and their copy GReddy's hotpipe with the flange already welded on. Or you can buy the hotpipe pipe itself with flange from HeavyThrottle for $119.00. Incase you already have the BOV. Hope this helps.
