For those of you who are running it, how does it fit...Is it straight bolt on? What does the intercooler mount to? Did you relocate the battery, get a smaller one, or does it run a different path? And does it come with everything needed? Is the Vspec good enough to hold 350 whp? Thanks for the help

Fits fine, straight bolt on provided you don't want a bumper support, you need to relocate the battery or get a smaller (read: Miata OEM sized) battery. It will come with just about everything needed but the hot pipe from the turbocharger.

There is no difference between the KA-T and SR intercooler kits other than the cold side piping being different.

It is rated for 400ps

is the hotpipe any different from the Intake side material wise? So i will have to have the hotpipe fabricated....and it does not use the bumper support?

You can notch the bumper support and still keep it onthe car...but you cut out the entire back of it, and most the bottom.

And yes...just make a hotpipe and you're set.

the greddy kit includes all the piping. You actually end up with 2 pieces that you dont need. the one pipe going across the top of the radiator and another shorter piece.

Oh yea and it all fits fine, a bit crowded on the intake side, but besides that and some bumper modification it works fine. I ended up taking my bumper to a shop and got it cut nicely for 25 bux.

btw here's a pic of the pipes included...

The intercooler kit comes with all the right ones.

The 2 extra pipes come with the turbo kit.

how big is the intercooler and pipe size. Pipe looks like 2.5. Does is come with all couplings or does it need to be welded? How much did you pay? What is the right part number?

This is where I got it.

I think its 2.5 inch... I think 3" would create more boost lag. Someone with more exp in this should pipe up on that.

www.sdsefi.com wrote:Most installations are plumbed with thin wall mandrel bent steel tubing. This tubing is available at race fab shops in various radii and diameters, generally in U or J configurations, which can be sectioned to fit together into the desired shape. It is relatively inexpensive and can be TIG or gas welded. Aluminum tubing can also be used but is harder to find and more expensive. Piping diameters are dependent mainly on engine airflow which is a function of HP. For engines up to 350hp, 2.25 inch tubing works well. 350 to 500 hp installations should use 2.5 inch. Engines above 500hp should use 2.75 or 3 inch tubing. Some means to take up vibration and engine movement to chassis mounted intercoolers is required. This usualy means flexible couplings. Moulded radiator hoses are available in larger diameters and various shapes and are generally safe at the temperatures and pressures required for street applications. You may have to cut or enlarge holes in your sheet metal for the piping to run to the intercooler. Watch hood clearnce and ground clearance to the pipes if they run over or under the radiator. Silicone hump hoses are also available to take up movement.
Hope this helps.

i was gonna ask the same question....and are the vacuum lines that connect to the bottom of the stock intake deleted? Where do they go, and what do they do anyway.
