I posted this in my thread, but not many people view it! Mods delete or move if I've posted in the wrong section, I just really want to get this problem resolved!

Alright, well I ran into a little bit of a problem today. My GReddy air intake suction kit for the Z32 MAFS came in today: http://www.frsport.com/Greddy-11920200- ... p_766.html
I was told to fit my MAFS I would need the 2.25"-3.00" reducing coupler, so I ordered one as well. Perfect, it fits great. Now I have a problem. The rubber part that combines the MAF to the actual filter =>

does not fit my MAF (obviously) it's for the Z32 MAF.

The worst part is, the filter only works with that rubber piece =>
Image As you can see
so I can't use a regular adapter. It has to be one that bolts up to my MAF.

Well, on FRSport there is the same intake (Minus the piping and re-clocking kit) that fits the CA18DET. Problem is, it's 86 dollars and I believe 5 for shipping. Do any of you know where I can get the rubber piece itself?? Or if anyone has one for sale? I need this really bad, and I literally spent the last few dollars I had saved up on the kit! I'll have to squeeze out some money from my parents to hopefully only have to buy the one piece. Unfortunately for now I'll have to use the stock box and the aftermarket piping which kinda sucks 'cause I'd like to use the new filter! If not that exact piece, do you know what adapter I could use?!

Here's the GReddy filter for the CA18.

Thanks in advance guys!
Gabriel.

you are only going to be able to use the Greddy filter with a Greddy MAF adapter. I dont know of any other company that makes adapters like that. your choices are as followed:

1) Use stock airbox with stock MAF (which you are doing now)
2) buy eBay style 3" Cone filter and MAF adapter for 240sx and drill holes to fit on CA MAF and run that
3) upgrade to Z32 MAF and install filter and adapter along with supporting mods for the Z32 MAF
4) Buy CA18DET Greddy Intake filter w/ adapter for CA MAF

I would just run the stock airbox until you upgrade to the Z32 MAF. There is a way to modify the stock airbox to allow for more airflow. This will also keep the intake temperatures down IIRC, since there isn't any hot engine bay air getting into the intake system and its all pulled fresh from the fender area :)

Yea I SERIOUSLY doubt the stock air box is posing much restriction at your power levels. People have a bad habit of assuming the stock airbox is of poor design, when in reality, they usually are of a very good design.

You'll upgrade to the Z32 MAFS eventually. I'd hang onto that filter and just wait till ur ready to use it.

When I "tracked" my stock KA coupe, the stock box with snorkel and a high flow filter was the best... (Also, keep the fan shroud and underbody shroud...)

Tried fitting the stock airbox with the GReddy piping, and it did not work! The stock airbox pushes out too much, I'll post more pictures tomorrow. Even if I managed to get the intake piping hooked up to the air box, I wouldn't be able to run my intercooler piping. What I'm doing is, picking up material to make an adapter that looks like this =>
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/89-94-Ni ... ccessories

But on the other side I'll add a plate that will fit that Z32 rubber piece and bolt it on there. I'll show you guys pictures when I'm done!

Thanks Zak for sending me the link to that filter, really gave me the idea on making my own that'll fit this filter!
