Greddy Evo2 - Recommended on the J?

Alright, i've got my eye on a very expensive exhaust that could be custom fit on the K by "Drivers Image" (Import Tuning Shop) I really do like the way it sounds.

I need some more input. Would it be worth the money to do for the J30? Does the sound match the car? Or would I just be another Sti wanna B driving my J?

well.. you'll never sound like an sti since those are only 4 cylinders (more "POP" per cylinder fire).... plus they are turbocharged (deeper muffled sounding regardless of exhaust)... plus they have a straight-through muffler and the headers are set up to do the oppoisite of scavanging (which makes the unique thuga-thug on slight acceleration... but supposedly helps the turbo?).

in any other case..... if it is custom fitted by a shop, and they put slightly larger piping on .... its gonna sound mean, and will be worth it.

I'd get a CAI also ... it will give a very nice growl that compliments your new exhaust

man how i would love for my J to sound like the STI but i agree there are to many factors that we as J lovers dont have that wont alow us that unique sound. if you are looking in a custome direction have you thought about just putting a system on there that they recomend for the NA 300zx i would think just notch the rear bumper on the pasenger side like it is on the driver side and then have the system run out the rear on both sides i think that would be sick

Thinks have changed since I posted this topic. I'm now looking at the Tanabe Concept G System. It sounds like a Ferrari. Check it out for yourself on Tanabe.com

Your idea with dual exhaust on the J, with epecially the Concept G exhaust would just be too good to be true.... Imagine how much $$$ that would cost to do!! I would love to see how that looks if there are any experenced photoshopers who could do that. lol

I wonder how much my intake would assist the sound of the Tanabe once I have them do it....?

I"ve heard someone's car on this board, in drift videos. He said all he did was take off teh last muffler, and leave the two pipes open under the car. In combination with his intake it sounded very mean .... was thinking about doing it on my J

i do agree that is a very nice CLEAN job. looks like it came that way do you know what he did are those duel tip muffler or dual mufflers under the car and just dual tips at the end ?

Thanks for clearing up the link. I forgot the Tanabe-usa.com. Diamonds J really hit the spot for the J30 Dual. If I were to do dual, I most defiantly would get the mufflers with dual tips, no doubt. It's just a better look for the J. But I still LOVE the S2000's dual exhaust.

Soon i'm going to head to “Drivers Image” and see what they could do.
