so ive finally got my motor broken in, and am starting to run some boost, currently i have the top vacuum wastegate port connected to the "com" port on the boost control valve, the bottom vacuum port on the w/g to a -4 fitting on my charge pipe on the outlet of my compressor housing, and to the "nc" side of the boost control valve goes to another -4 fitting on the charge pipe next to the compressor, im running a tub manifold, a spl 60mm w/g and a greedy t-78-33d

i set my boost to 0 and itll make 7psi so the w/g spring is 7psi. i try to run 10 itll pull 10 then drop down to 7 again, i set it to 20 and itll make 15, set t to 30 and itll pull 20, im about to remove the E01, any help?

are you using the 'autolearn' function on the e-01?if so you need to do a few pulls for the e-01 to learn the wg characteristics.I've found that manual mode works the best but if set up right auto works well too.

Why remove it just because you didn't know how to use it? Like Carl said, auto learn works if you set it up right and then do multiple pulls to let it learn. I own one just as a1 does, and it does that it was made to do. If you go with any other boost controller, good luck finding another one that can even adjust to whatever "psi" you set it to. Most will do a gain setting (number not similar to the psi/bar/kpa you run). Personally, since I have been playing with EBC's for a very long time, I have learned how to just use the gain setting way of adjusting boost. If you really really want to just do the "i want this psi" setting, then you need to learn how to use it. Instead of us explaining it here, read your manual. It is your friend. If you are like me and ended up with a full japanese manual (5 years ago), go onto the website and the instructions are available in english. It works! I have used the auto-learn function before and it worked. The only reason I do not use it now is because weather changes, and with it, air density changes. Then you have to relearn it again for this new air temp to hit the same target pressure. Instead, I've found that once you found your gain setting, all you do is turn it down 2-4% if it gets cold (more if in colder climates then here). Once you get used to it, it's a walk in the park on where you turn it to. Personally I do not run my MAX boost on the street anyway, so I tend to not adjust it a lot to begin with. If the weather changes, I ignore it cause my boost will not spike into a range I did not tune it for or have the fuel for because I normally run lower on the street. Enough of the rant... The summary of the story, just learn to use your damn EBC. You can't build the Empire State building by just winging it without instructions...
