Why remove it just because you didn't know how to use it? Like Carl said, auto learn works if you set it up right and then do multiple pulls to let it learn. I own one just as a1 does, and it does that it was made to do. If you go with any other boost controller, good luck finding another one that can even adjust to whatever "psi" you set it to. Most will do a gain setting (number not similar to the psi/bar/kpa you run). Personally, since I have been playing with EBC's for a very long time, I have learned how to just use the gain setting way of adjusting boost. If you really really want to just do the "i want this psi" setting, then you need to learn how to use it. Instead of us explaining it here, read your manual. It is your friend. If you are like me and ended up with a full japanese manual (5 years ago), go onto the website and the instructions are available in english. It works! I have used the auto-learn function before and it worked. The only reason I do not use it now is because weather changes, and with it, air density changes. Then you have to relearn it again for this new air temp to hit the same target pressure. Instead, I've found that once you found your gain setting, all you do is turn it down 2-4% if it gets cold (more if in colder climates then here). Once you get used to it, it's a walk in the park on where you turn it to. Personally I do not run my MAX boost on the street anyway, so I tend to not adjust it a lot to begin with. If the weather changes, I ignore it cause my boost will not spike into a range I did not tune it for or have the fuel for because I normally run lower on the street. Enough of the rant... The summary of the story, just learn to use your damn EBC. You can't build the Empire State building by just winging it without instructions...
