I was wondering if the GReddy e-Manage Ultimate would be good for the RB25det compare to the power FC, I also have the Greddy Profec e-01 boost controller (can be used as stand-alone boost controller) w/the LCD screen. I'm just trying to see which one would be good, or they both are about the same. Thanks for reading and any reply would help out, I'm alsogetting a turbo upgrade soon, and wanted to know which one would be good for me, thanks.

spend the extra cash on the pfc.i as well have the e-01 and even had an emanage (blue), but after much mucking with it i found the emanage sucks. period.its a piggyback in the end, power fc is worth the extra 50$ you'll spend on it.

from my experience with it, this is true.

and piggybacks are always inferior to standalones.

cool Thanks Carl H, does the Power FC come pre-mapped or Do I let the tuner do all of it?, lol I mean is it good to go with a few stock parts and when I'm adding parts like new turbo, intake manifold, and etc., I'll let the turner do it. so, is the Profec e-01 friendly with the power FC?

I don't classify the PFC as a "standalone". It is just a tunable replacement computer. In my mind a standalone would be something that completely ditches the OEM gear. I have an E-manage and never really had the chance to mess with it. I would sgree though that between the two the PFC looks like the superior unit.

the power fc will function independently of the e-01 and do it happily.imho the pfc is a stand alone system, while you cant edit ALL of the paramaters with the hand comander once you have the software or least know a tuner with it, it is simply AMAZING what the pfc is capable of.nissan efi is some of the most technologicaly advanced management systems to come out from factory...why mess with something that works so incredibly well?there are numerous silly high hp cars that run off of stock management that has been tweaked...pfc just uses those sensors.

Other than hot-wire AFMs I have had no complaints about the Nissan engine controls. I miss the old flapperdoor AFMs, they were simpler and more rugged and blowing through them gave me less sleepless nights.

lol, a poteniometer hooked up to a series of gears and a door that maxes instantly giving no resolution what so ever.yes blowing thru hotwire mafs can be a pain but it is still more accurate than a flapper door.almost every maf ive used for blowthru needs to be 'boost prepped' meaning old silicone removed, plastic cleaned, and resealed.

Ask the 1JZ that couldn't get away from my old R30 with an L20 about my blow through flapperdoor. The tons of RX7s running them seem to do ok as well. Knock it if you want but I never had problem one with a flapperdoor.I wouldn't try blowing through a hot wire myself. I have seen people do it but it makes me nervous. Thin plastic tube with a fragile wire dangling in all that rushing boost, meh. I did see one guy though who cut all the shell away leaving just the box and probe, drilled a hole in his intercooler piping, smeared the bottom of the boxwith silicone , dropped the probe through the hole and clamped it down.
