I am interested in getting greedy cams, mainly because i am trying to stay with one company as much as possible. I was just wondering if anyone has installed greedy cams, and cam gears and what type of improvemenet they have seens vs hks cams, or toda cams. I will probably get 264 degress with 10.5 lift, because i will want to keep the car as street able as possible. Also do you know any websites that sell greddy cams. I searched for a while, and find them for alot of cars, but not sr's. I wish greeyd updated there website more often. Thank you.

You're not going to find anyone on this board (AFAIK) that has tried greddy and HKS, or toda cams...Contact MTS, they have experience with all the came on the SR...i can tell you they will recommend HKS....and that whole "staying with one company" goal really should be more thought out...different companies make different parts better than the others...mix and match for maximum performance...the only reason anyone uses all one company is if that company is building the car, going for sponsorship, or works for that company (even though that doesnt even hold true 99% of the time...)

264's even lump a bit on idle, my buddy's car sounds almost like an RX-7 with them in it.

I personally like HKS cuz it's decient quality and cheep.

can't go wrong with TODA though.

the main reason i am staying with greddy is honestly i think they make some really nice stuff. If there cams are as good as there other products i would be interested. The only thing i didn't get greddy so far was the dp, because its not stainless steel, so i went with blitz. If i went ahead and got hks cams, i could use toda cam gears right? i dont want under my hood to look like a circus with all the differenet colors. I wish the greddy pulley set wasn't blue. Doesn anyone know of any other pulley sets? Im trying to stay red, stainless steel, black as much as possible.

I would recommend not getting cams. I had them on my old car and they aren't worth the idle you get for the amount of power you get. Get a bigger turbo or something like that. Because the idle really sucks if you want to stay streetable.

Friend of mine has 256/10.5 intake cam and 264/11 exhaust. It idles rather smooth at 800RPM until the A/C comes on. Other then that, its very streetable. He tells me that the intake cam plays the biggest role on how smooth the engine idles, and the exhaust cam is the way it is for better spool-up.

Obviously cam selection has a big responsability in this....choose the wrong cams and you wont be happy, choose the right cams for a street setup, and have no disapointments.

then what are the "right" cams for a daily driver sr20det? I just want more power without rough idles.

If the color bugs you that much, you can have them deanodized, and then reanodized another color. Or have them keep it the aluminum color if that's what you prefer.

I found a company on the web a while back that does anodizing, can't remember where it was though. I'm sure a search on Google would turn something up though.
