Could be maf. Unplug and start up to see if it idles fine. Stock valve should be okay if it's in working condition still...mine leaked finally after 2 yrs of using it at 14 psi on my car that was stolen last yr.

Did you tried to adjust the bov? Work with the adjustment, maybe thats your problem.

Or maybe you don't have the mods to support an atmospheric BOV. Recirculate or get the HKS EIDS. http://hksusa.com/products/?id=2175

tighten the spring...if it fixes it there you go or if it helps then recirculate and you should be ok..if neither helps then the problem isnt your bov..have you been able to drive the car at all? if so notice any misfiring?

Some cars run fine with atmospheric bov's. My fastback that was stolen last year was running an Apexi Twin Chamber and now my coupe is running a Greddy Type R not recirculated either. No issues when slowing down or coming to a stop quickly.

Key word. As no additional info has been given that stands as the most obvious solution.

true but at the same time some engines will die out when the driver lets off of the gas no matter how tight the spring is..some engines just need to have a recirculated bov..one of the many wierd things in life

On a completely unrelated note, do you still have the cams?

well now that i know its not misfiring then i know that the only other thing that could be causing this if its not the bov is the IACV or sometime of vacuumm leak ..let us know how it works out..i know a recirulation kit cost money but do it and we can get the car to run how it should

SOME is better than none. What kind of supporting mods do you need to run an atmospheric bov? I know upgrading a turbo needs supporting mods, I didn't know running an atmospheric bov needs supporting mods

there are no supporting mods to run an atmospheric bov..its either you run atmospheric and it works fine or it doesnt which in that case you would recirculate it and have a recirculated bov not atmospheric anymore

I've seen many SR's run just fine with atmo BOV. From our experience, more will be perfectly fine than will have a problem.

To the original poster:

So it won't even idle?

Make sure your BOV is getting the correct vacuum source! Your problem sounds more like boost leak or leaking BOV making the atmo BOV issue much worse than it should be.
