i believe it would be helpful to others as well as making it more easy to search for things, if the mods divided the m45 into a 1st generation section and a 2nd generation. i find a lot of times i look into interesting threads, only to find out its not for the car im looking at.

so just a suggestion and i hope mods to a considerable thought into this, thanks!

this is how it is on acurazine, "tl.acurazine.com/forums"

I forgot to report about the previous suggestion ... sorry about that!

I brought it up in the Mod and Admin groups for discussion and we went over the request. The general consensus was that it was a bit early to do this. Yes, we have two very distinct models in the 2003/4 M and the 2006+ M, but there are also similarities (engine, for example) and the posting rate in this forum does not yet warrant a split just yet.

We have had similar splits in the past requested and sometimes done (for example, at one time, all Infiniti owners posted in the "Infiniti General" forum) and gone through with the process when the number of posts made sense for it to be split. And, yes, we will revisit this in the future for the M forum too!

Personally, I am was of the people who dislike splitting the groups ... I like reading about all the Infiniti models, and having separate forums makes for more clicking and reading. It is easy enough (given our current post volume in this M forum) to glance through this single forum and pretty much read everything new in one quick sitting.

So ... for the moment ... we are going to retain a single forum for all the M models. I will continue my practice of editing the titles to make it clear which model M a given post refers to (if appropriate) so that people can skip a thread if they want!

Thanks for the suggestion, and, like I said, we will revisit this decision later.

no i dont have an M45 yet, and i do have a TL, its just a saber conversion.

i made the mistake of buying the TL without checking the forum first. i never knew it existed and never knew what forums were prior to it. but once i got my car, i found out about the forum and found the notorious glass trannies with the TL as well as many other problems. so i plan to research this site just to test the waters, and hopefully its not shark infested.

You mean the car or the site?? These Infinitis are great, you will have one here and there that have oil problems but that is the ONLY major problem with these cars. Hope you find one and fall in love with it.cheers

I think this section is Y34 dominated anyhow. LOL I notice more Y34s here and the newer M guys are on FreshAlloy.

Nope ... not acording to the poll results: zerothread/145379.

We have double the number of 2006+ M owners than 2003 and 2004.
