Ok so i was lookin around online and i found some really good info on the QR25 engine... It

One thing it points out is why the RPM limiter is so low. it says its because of the light valve springs, not the long stroke.

And this got me excited! It says there is as much as 10-20hp in the restrictive exhaust!

Heres the article. it has a LOT of great info!

Yeah, according to Stillen, their headers for the Spec V increased power by 10-15hp IIRC... I'm bloody excited for this!!!

Then i can def see a between 20-30 hp increase from I/H/E. I noticed a significant increase in power with my new exhaust.

The article also said something along the lines that the qr25 should be able to handle about 5lbs of boost from a turbo!

Thanks for sharing this article with us. Cant wait for the new headers to come out and with exhaust if I can see up to 20HP thats pretty impressive.

I dont know if I would trust putting a turbo on.

Well a turbo is gonna add extra wear on the engine but as long as your not running boost ALL the time it shouldnt effect it too much.

Even kyle was sayin that runnin 5psi non-intercooled should be fine for years.

that would be soo nice and if the kit is non intercooled if would cut down on cost and install time...... mmmmm i want that turbo sound soo bad.

yeah me too... i was on a sentre spec v forum from a couple years ago and a guy made a turbo for the qr25 on the sentra at 8psi and was gettin 260whp!! Thats insane! Im tryin to find a place that has a turbo for the sentra and seein if i could convince them to make a set-up for our 2.5 a/c..

i want stillen to come out with theirs sooo bad because they have such great quality in every aspect of the word but i dont think theres enough intrest from the polls for them just yet.

we could prolly do a supercharger and have less piping to run and would make it more of an at home project..... but me and my silly non-power handeling cvt wouldnt like it...... well just the cvt wouldnt like it.

Thats why i got the MT..lol I dont think i would like my car NOT shifting...lol Any way i just emailed two different companies that make turbos for the Qr25de on the sentra and on older Altima models asking if there was any way to get them to make one for us 2.5ers. The kits they have already use between 5-8psi and put out between 260-300whp.

Heres the email addresses if you want to try and gauge more interest.

are the CVT transmissions in the 2.5s the same as the ones in the 3.5se? if so then a stock 3.5se is putting out about 240 WHP stock (thats the stick and CVT is some where around there, can't exactly dyno a CVT). but if the 3.5se has 240 WHP stock and that turbo will make the QR25 at about 230WHP to 260WHP then the CVT will take it with no problems at all. it'll be like a light weight 3.5se A/C with some bolt-ons.

the 2.5 cvt is about 171 lbs lighter than a 3.5cvt, I am not sure how much turbos and super charger setups weigh, but wouldn't you reduce that weight advantage??

Well that would be good to know if the trannys are the same. It gives us 2.5ers a lot of safe hp and tq increase before we have to worry about the extra stress on our transmission.

I was tryin to find out who makes the MT for the coupe but i couldnt find anything. Does anyone know who makes it?

can you have headers and an after market exhaust to be almost as quiet as stock?

cuz i know exhausts with silencers still are louder than stock

are you talking about all around loud or in cabin loudness? i'm going to take my cat back off which will make my car louder and i already have after market cat-back exhaust so it's going to be pretty loud and will get annoying during hwy driving so what i'm going to do is put a bunch of sound deadening. it should help with exhaust noise, engine noise, road noise, etc. it'll make the drive much more quite and enjoyable.

but if you want the car to be all around quiet (like from outside the car too) then i recommend getting resonators in the exhaust system..... however, more free flowing exhaust means more HP so quieting it down should restrict flow and not allow the full HP potential (or at least from my understanding)

Ok so i got a reply from the guys at Turbo-Kits.com

"We do not yet have a kit that is designed specifically for the Altima.. As you noted, the card do share the same engine family.. The kit should bolt to the motor, but modifications and or additional tuning may be required to get the kit to fit the Altima specifically.. I do not yet have any confirmation as to what it would take to get it installed. We have not yet had anyone try it. I would imagine a competent installer would be able to get it done Let me know if you have any further questions or would like to order. Thanks!"

Not quite what i was hoping for but it does seem feasible to get a kit on the 2.5, it would just be a custom setup for now.

Did you try Revolution Autoworks? Its a supercharger, so it would give us the power in the bottom end...

...that is, if having power in your bottom end is your thing. Some guys dig it. Others prefer women.Mwahahahahahah....hmmmmm... Ugh, I'm so bored at work right now..............
