that is ag reat deal the fmax kit is really nice. i dont really like the bottom mount turbo but the fact that it comes with 370's and a jwt ecu is great. i would have gone with that and they prob arent on back order like my nsport is. its been 3 months and i was told 2 weeks

that is w/out the ECU... but includes everything else. I like the "bottom mount" turbo, looks more stock. We have dyno/visual emissions inspections here so as close to looking like a "stock" turbo system as possible is best for that. Not as strict as CA here but pretty close!

i thinkits 98turboka on nico that had the fmax kit on and siad that was the only thing he didnt like because it put the turbo very close to the power steerring pump.

Yeah, but for $100 more you get the Nsport kit with bigger turbo, bigger intercooler, better intercooler piping, and more power.

Assuming it arrives on time, and the turbo isn't broken

Well, I am sure that Nsport will take care of any customer that has a problem. I am also sure that someone has had a problem with a F-max kit before. Both are good kits so please don't try to down one kit because of one person's complaint. I just like the Nsport more because of the bigget turbo and intercooler.

plus the Fmax kit doesn't come with the JWT ECU, you have to do that yourself ($600 + 2 week downtime) so you're up past $4000 after its all said and done anyway.

i am getting an FMAX kit because when i plotted out points on the compressors efficiency map it landed on the top two islands for most of the points between 10 and 12 psi which is what i plan on running... as far as the intercooler the fmax one only the fan shroud needs to be modified ... not the bumper supports and i doubt that i'd be pushing the limits of that intercooler at 12 psi... the Nsport kit would be great if you are planning on running tons of boost but if not why not get a turbo more matched to what you want ?

NSport can probably sub in just about any turbo that fits for a slightly higher price. I'm sure Fmax and XS would do so as well.

As far as the I/C, it depends on how you use the car. Heat soak may become an issue for the Fmax kit at higher boost levels and particularly at track events. I've seen the NSport Kit in person on one of their cars and it is the biggest I've seen that comes with any prefabbed kit for the 240sx that I know of.

You all should know that Turbonetics owns F-Max and has created a better kit overall inc. free BB upgrade and ceramic coating. I bought mine for less but they add better items now.

Been really pleased with mine, heat soak is not an issue b/c everything important in my engine bay is coated. I don't like the hot pipe piping, it sometimes bangs against the inside fender.

They include instructions now too :) I bought mine during the whole F-Max/Turbonetics merge. Things got ugly b/c they were undermanned but I hope the situation has changed.

All my write-ups on install and dynos are on FreshAlloy

Wow, guess I was lucky....OR perhaps annoyingly persistent with Ben.

Mine was just under a three-week turn-around, including the 4 days it took shipping to me...

And you don't NEED to pay $600 for a brand new JWT ECU.

Buy a used one on ebay for like $300-$350, have it programmed for $100, and save yourself $150-$200 over JWT's price--plus, there will be no down-time since you still have your regular ECU.
