From the looks of it, WIN7 starter looks pretty clean though.
Honestly, Win7 starter drives me nuts, visually. It lacks aero, which means what you basically have is shiny grey. It's sort of...trying to be sexy but not actually sexy. I think you can actually switch to a classic windows look, which is preferable to aero-less 7/Vista. At least the old 98 look isn't trying to be sexy.

Well as long as it is just the visual part that is lacking. Starter has all the functionality of regular 7 when it comes to programs that you can use correct?

If so, that is all I need. I am the type of guy who has XP and still has every resource sucking eye candy turned off . The only thing I like is simple and non-shininess so when it comes to performance vs pretty, I will sacrifice pretty any day of the week. I just ordered a Eee PC so I will try both Win7 and Classic views.

Lenovo delivered my S10 yesterday. It was repaired by UPS in their Memphis facility. This is by far the fastest turnaround time I've ever experienced. The motherboard was replaced.

The lack of Aero doesn't bother me, but I think with time it would because I like to be able to customize my desktop. She wasn't too interested in running Linux so i'll probably be upgrading it eventually.

Nice, that's flat out amazing turnaround time! Did they explain why the motherboard failed? I was shocked how fast Woot got my order to me, they usually take at least 2 weeks to get something to me.

I got mine today too. I'm actually on it right now. So far, so good. I bought a 9 cell battery off of ebay to replace the measly 3 cell. Right now I'm working on "upgrading" Win7 starter. ;)
