My only complaint about junkyards around DC is that they won't use gravel or anything for the yard and they don't police the yard enough. Often, vehicles there have all sort of parts lost to flooding or just plain wetness at the yard. The only way to get around seems to be the door panels and spare tires that unscrupulous customers rip out of the car and dump into the puddle for use as stepping stones or as a knee pad. Also, practically all the cars will have the hood off and an intake manifold missing and a open block filled with water. I don't know why they let anyone destroy other parts just to get the one thing they need... There definitely needs to be some sort of check going on.
Recycling? More like rape. 90% of the good parts get ruined after the first part gets taken off. It's a travesty.
