I have NLGI GC LB grease I was going to use in the prop shaft. How do I know if that meets NLGI 2 specs. Thanks.

Nearly all grease is No. 2. You can try Googling for the product data sheet of the grease you bought.

Thanks. Do you know how much I should put in? Do I just keep adding until I see some come out? Im not sure if there is any seals in there or not.

I just put 4-5 pumps in and call it good. Grease it every oil change from now on, or as soon as possible after potential water entry.

Thanks will do. I don't think it's been done since we've owned it. I'm very tempted to keep pumping grease in there until I see the old stuff start coming out. Do you ever see any grease ooze out when you're doing yours?

Nope, I've never seen any grease come out even after 10 to 12 pumps. I don't think it's supposed to come out of the seal. Which driveshaft are you greasing?

There is just the one, just in front of the transfer case. (4wd). I did 8-10 pumps and a little bit of air and dirty greased escaped out the front of the rubber sleeve ahead of the lube fitting.

There is just the one right??

Yes, there is just one on 4WD Pathfinders, on the front driveshaft as you described.

Anyone know why 03 Pathfinders owner manual doesn't specify Moly grease for the prop shaft but other years do?

Probably so the dealerships would only need to have a single type of grease on supply. I can't imagine there being any significant differences between the years, especially one where molybdenum would be incompatible. Use any grease you wish, just don't mix base types (i.e. mix a calcium sulfonate grease with lithium complex grease).

Yea doesn't make sense does it. I used another lithium based grease. Cheers.
