After viewing the cars on the website I was torn between Graphite Shadow and Black for the exterior. I thought the graphite looked a lot better on the website than it did on the lot. I wish they they had made it a darker gunmetal/tungsten color...with a black interior that would have been sweet. As it is, I think I'm going to go with black.

Black is the sexiest of all. Especially on the G. It looks really sweet. How you ever had a black car? Be ready it is only clean for .000003 seconds. Before you move one panel to the other you'll already see some dust on the previous panel.

With black you can have a good amount of swirl mark. So unless you know how to take care of black car I suggest to go with other color.

I bought a 2010 G37x sedan in Graphite Shadow. I was originally planning to buy the slate color, but the dealer did not have the options and color combo I was looking for. With that said, I am happy with the color decision. It hides dirt fairly well; however, deeper scratches show through.

I had a black Mustang back in the day, and found that automatic car washes with brushes did leave swirl marks on the paint. Once I went to Touchless or hand-washed it, I didn't have any more problems.

What do you recommend?

I just upgraded to a graphite shadow G37x from an 02 black nissan maxima. i agree that the black looks sweet on the G37, but after owning a black car for the past 8 years, i can't bring myself to buy another one. that said, i do love the graphite shadow too.

i couldn't get to the car wash often enough. also, the primer under the black paint job on the maxima was white, so every chip in the hood stood out in a big way. not sure how it is with the infiniti.

off topic, but what is this self healing paint i've heard about for the infiniti. do they use it for the 2010's?

I just got a 2010 sedan with GS paint also. The GS paint ,IMHO, shows off the G37 lines better then some of the other colorchoices. This is my 3rd car in a row that is basically the same color gray. I guess I'm in a rut.I've had a few black cars and got tired of the upkeep. Then I had a black cherry and everyone called it maroon.I avoid bright colored cars, I prefer to keep under the radar a bit while on the road and in parking lots. I asked the salesman about the self healing paint and he said it was discontinued for 2010. His story was that the paint had to warm up good to self heal and wasn't working properly in the colder climates.

I'm supposed to be getting a blue slate car, but if that doesn't work out, I wouldn't mind the graphite shadow. It's a bad-a** color. Also, the blue slate comes with stone leather, vs. the GS coming with black leather. I'll take the cooler light leather over the "better at hiding stains" black leather, I think.

I won't do black - too hot and, like everyone said, impossible to keep clean.

The GS colored car I test drove, had the options I wanted, but it had a black interior. I told them I wanted the stone interior, so they swapped for one, from another dealership. I just had to wait a day for the 2010 G37, GS/Stone, sedan, journey, premium, nav, splash guards, trunk mat and net.Tom

I have black on black and love it! So far the car keeps pretty clean. I'm having a Zaino party on Saturday before we get the pollen in Ga.

They are in the process of finding me a graphite shadow with black now. Should be available next week. I will post up pics and details then.

I have done the black before, and I still think it looks the best, when clean, but shows dirt real quick. I love the look of the Graphite, so we will see what that looks like in between washes, it gets tough trying to clean it all the time between work, wife, kid, dog and life in general

Well, looks like I'm gonna get a "liquid platinum." Maybe not quite as cool as graphite, but a little cooler in the summer at least.

I have to agree, graphite shadow is the way to go.

It really does show off the G37 lines better than the black IMO.

Every car and truck I have owned in the past 15 years has been black, I finally got fed up with the heat and swirl marks. I have been totally hapy with the GS.

With that said... Black autos will always rock in my book. But only if you tint the windows. I shoud be a politician,,, I know. But I am a sucker for a black car. I am just too old to put up with the swirl maintenance and heat output in our Texas summers anymore. If you can maintain the paint, go black!

If you are lazy and want to blend in with the new Graphite Trend... go GS.The GS does look really really good. It just isn't black.

Wow. I just wasted a lot of typing. I said nothing, if this were a word problem the anser would be "zero".
