Notice Michael's concern during the interview? I found it interesting that on the radio he was told his brother was OK.. "but I've heard this before and it was not the case" (Ayrton Senna)

Sucks that the world's best driver has to think through whether he's being told the truth about his brother's condition, while he's racing in the world's fastest circuit sport.

Last year about this time, Schumacher won a race, the day after his mother passed away. On the podium, the mood was obviously very grim, but the fact that he could pull it together to race, nevermind the win, shows us what he's made of. His history-making career is obviously more than just having a good car. That man is mentally tough.

But in the interview, even though he said that he had been told that before, he also mentioned that he had confirmation that he was in fact ok.

They said Ralph had some bad bruises, but no broken bones and was going to recover just fine.

Sucks Montoya got black flagged. That was some technical B.S. if I've ever heard of it.

Anyway, wish I was there! I've never been to an F1 race but I would LOVE to be there!

Exactly! Imagine having to think that through, while racing at Indy with the eyes of the world watching.

True....although, personally, I would use that as motivation to finish the race as clean and as fast as possible, so that I could get out of the car and verify that he was ok. You have to focus your feelings optimisticlaly.

I was there sitting in the Turn 6 grandstand. Great seats. Saw 3 accidents, some passing and a car catch fire. Of course Michael won and Reubens came in number 2, but all I got to say is, Takuma Sato. If his pit strategy would have been slightly different, he would have won. He was hounding the Ferrari's in the early stages and would have passed both if he didn't have to stop. But he did make up about 30 seconds on them by the time the race ended and came back and finished 3rd. It looks to me like BAR may be a team to reckon with for the rest of the season. They may not win a race, but they should be right there battling for second in the constructor's. Button was running good early beforing having to retire and then Sato had a great race. The Honda engine is slightly underpowerd down the stretches, but once in the turns it outhandles the Ferraris. At least that's the way it was in Indy.

For those who have never been to an F1 race, it is a must. The sound is amazing. You hear it on T.V., but it does it no justice. You miss out on the booming of the gear changes and the power and speed that these cars really have.

I would love to go too. But money, and distance make it difficult. I'll just have to settle for the local races at VIR and Summit

I thought it was interesting how Michael put it. He had to keep circling around and seeing his brother still not out of the car. Then he sat for a while on the stretcher. Then they finally got him off the track. That had to be a very scary thing for a long time driver to watch (SmithSR: talking with my friends we discussed the whole Senna thing as well)

I was very happy for Toyota and Sato. Toyota has the biggest bank roll and if Sato can keep his game up, I would not be surprised to start seeing him up there more often. I thought it was shady of FIA to do that to JPM, but I can't stand the bastard after the crap that "Accientally" happend in the tunnel at Monaco. I am more of a Kimi Riakonnen and Ruebens Barichello fan, but I love Ferrari and anyone that screws with them (or West-MacMerc) is going to hell.

Umm.. Sato doesn't drive the Toyota, He drives the BAR-Honda. Olivier Panis and Damata drive the Toyotas and they were both pretty disappointing for having the biggest bank roll in F1. Anyways Im glad to see that a sport that I have been following for 15 years is finally getting recognition, I mean this sport is alot more entertaining then Nascar, did everybody see that move how Sato passed Panis and how quickly they both moved their cars to avoid each other, they were probably going about 170-180 mph, you will never see that kinda action in Nascar. GO F1!!!! Oh i just realized my secret about the f1 part in my name is out. oh well......Im happy cause you guys were interested, we should have a thread on here each time a grand prix happens and post our thoughts on it.

The last F1 race I was at wat the 1995 Montreal GP, Jean Alesi's ONLY F1 victory. Shumi finshed second in a Benetton stuck in 4th or 5th, I can't remember. Shumi is the man, he won 2 world championships in underpowered Benetton Ford's before his climb with Ferrari.

I'm a big Sato fan and was really excited to see him finish on his first podium. I hope to see him win one this year. Bar Honda is coming up big! Yesterdays race was awesome, who says there's no passing in F1? Sato passed at least 5 cars!

I hope to make it to the USGP soon. The sights and sounds of F1 live is unlike anything else. Simply amazing. I've been to the Long Beach GP like 4 times and it's cool, but nothing compared to that 95 Montreal GP I went to.

Section 6 Row F Seat 6. Pretty good seats. Next year we are trying to get them up about 15 rows higher so we can see turn 1 a little better. Hopefully Tony George will put up another jumbo screen so we can see the rest of the track without craning our necks to look over towards the straightaway grandstand. All in all though I was pleased with the seats.

I also was pleasantly surprised by the Renault's. Even though Alonso crashed, he had a really nice run to start the race. And Trulli ran a really good race as well to finish just off the podium in 4th. Sato's pass of Trulli in the grass needless to say daring, but very entertaining.

As for Toyota, give em a chance they are a very very young team and it sounds like Ralf may joining the team next year. It may take a couple years to get the team competitive, but they sure have the bankroll for it. It's taken BAR a few years to get where they are, I'm sure that Toyota will be in the same position as BAR is now in just a couple years.

I can't wait till next year though, with all the driver changes going on. Montoya with McLaren and Ralf with Toyota leaves a void at Williams. They have some pretty good test drivers on the roster though and if I remember right they still own the rights to Jensen Button, which could be very interesting. I've also heard Mark Webber's name thrown around for a Williams ride in the near future.

Hopefully there will be some competition for Ferrari next year. BAR, Renault, Williams and McLaren all look like they could have good seasons.

Yeah, Alonso's start was incredible. He went from like 6 or 7th on the pole to 2nd place or something in the first turn. It was sweet seein him weave his way through everyone at the start!

it seemed to be cuation flag day yesterday. the Nascar cup race had a caution thrown on the exit of turn 2.

Not every day you see a 240 vert next to a Maseratti(spelling). This is right behind the pit road seats, to the left of Corner Terrace #6

my dad laughs these days at how the cars have changed. he saw a few GPs at Watkins Glen and Mid-Ohio back in the 70s and i agree since then the advance in the cars is astounding.

hoping to go to either canadian or us gp next year:rolleyes
