Hey guys I just got the Zonda Race Car, pretty sweet but too unstable when I get the rear wheels swung onto the grass/dirt. I got a 1:25.029 with it on Laguna Seca with it unmodified but I had 0 ASM and 1 TCS. If I dont have any TCS I think it is unplayable if you accidentally get into the dirt. What do you think is the best handling car in the game that can be modified to/over 500 hp? I think the S4 is really good I have about 3200 miles on it. Too bad the 240 can't have more hp. The R32 Skyline is crap, I think. How is the FD RX 7? I want a pretty small car but they all have too small engines...

I have a 389hp GTS-T that just rips it up. I had the get the mid-range coilovers and racing slicks but now it carves corners like a Ginsu knife.

3000GTs get up to 1000 hp and handle great. I had a 562 hp Lancer Evolution V as my main car for a long time, played great. I hate the Benz's though, damn SL600 can't handle worth crap and I can't beat the professional Legend of Silver Arrow races cause of it.

Oh, and Jaguar XJ220 rocks. I took MR challenge in professional without problem. I also won the Mitsubishi FTO Race car... 980 hp and handles like a dream. It's just not quite as fast as my 1700 hp Escudo Pike's Peak...

Right now i'm kicking *** with the CALSONIC skyline JGTC(J) and the Camaro race car,but a long time ago i had the Corvette C5R,but i started a new game a while back and haven't gotten it yet.But that car has the best handling in the whole game except for the formula cars which i've never driven, but i've heard they're so good it's almost like cheating.Anyway,i have a few touring cars, and a alot of LM race cars, but none of then compare to the handling of the C5R.It can also be upgraded to like 900+ HP.Give it a try.

I've had the C5R, didn't like it so much. I prefer the AWD 900+ Mitsubishi FTO Race Car I have :P

All the race cars are good though, probably just a matter of preference!

Yeah, you suckers! Im 96% done with the game and have 185 cars, i have most of the Formula cars which are without a doubt, the best in the game. I have over 10 million credits, and have modified every car that i have to the full potential, i have about 13-20 cars all over 1000hp, i even double of two cars, some for drifting, and some for regular racing. My best drifter is the supra. I have well over 300 hrs. of game time in there, i have been playing it for the past year, and still havent beat it! Aaaahhhh! no cheats. the formula series is just tough, i can beat it, but since all of thiose cars are on your level with hp and skill, it gets tough. especially if your on the 6th race and need new oil, then you have to get out of the series! Im thinking of giving up and getting auto modellista. March 24th baby! HKS is liscensed in AM.

im 62% of the way done with the game. I got about 2 million dollars and so many cars I cant count. Right now im struggling through to get my S lisence. No cheats or anything. My favorite car is the Toyota GT-1 Road Car. It has about 1100hp and handles great at high speed, and sweet acceceleration. I like the Zonda also, but I agree it has crappy handling at high speeds. I really want a formula car cuz ive never seen one before. I love all the Skylines too. :D

I have all of the skylines, just got te pennzoil one. The formulas take forever to get. I got all gold on all of my liscences, and got the special car from each one of those. I have all of begginer, amatuer, and more than half of professianl done, i am also done with rally. I have like three or four more races to go wih the enurance part. i have gold on every single race. This game just takes way too long.

The Mnes Gt-R blows, i hate it, you can barely tune it. My best GT-R has like 1060 hp or something like thaty and runs 9s on the 400m. Hey, that sunds like a good thread, to post your best 400m, and top speed and fastest lap around a certan course. Bah, i wont do it.

Go ahead I want your best times!

I got around a 9.65 on the Zonda Race Car with only a stage 2 NA. It was completely stock tuned too. I do not know how to tune 400 well but I'm ok with tuning for the track.

You can see my best laguna seca at top (1:25.029) I even lost control once so I think a 1.22 is possible with my car. Whats a good setting for the brakes on a 1300 kg car?

I think I got the Escudo Pike's Peak up to 287 (maybe it was 274?) on the test course. What are your top speeds?

we talking 2 or 3? i think 3 since one dude mentioned the c5r

i get you some hot lap times once i get my ps2 back from my neibor , seems i left it over there when i was drunk last night

have seen as much as 325 out of the escudo , messing with the tcs ,torque split, excessivly tall gears trick is to keep the front tires lit up (without lifting from start) untill you fully enter the backstright , front tires eventaly hook up hook up and you get a 3 second burst of speed

also go get a buddy and run 2 player , boath of you get the same f1 cars , follow you buddy closely , you will notice that he seems to slow down but acutaly your speeding up , who woulda thought the guys makeing gt3 would put drafting in this game

I'm still using my original Gran Tourismo on the the original Playstation. I don't use it much now but I do test out suspension tips I hear here on the site. The game is good for that. I use a regualar vibrating type analogue controller but the game gets frustrating because the throttle is always full on or off and the steering input is limited that way too. This makes doing the longer races hard and gold levels on the advanced licence levels very difficult because you have no choice but to drive the car hard to control the steering with acceleration and that limits finesse and kills the tires.

In GT3 you have a little bit of control with the throttle and steering but not that much. I wonder if a steering wheel with a pedal set would fix this? I'm always spinning out with MR cars because they are so power full and the tires are always slipping when I'm accelarating out of a turn. I can't ease the accelerator out.

i run the analog sticks in the center of the controller , gives more controll over throttle position , part part is the lack of the ability to use brake and gas at the same time so im a little slower coming off turn 1 at seca fromt he time lapse from brake to full throttle

I have heard of tricks to get it over 500 mph with the glitches in the game, I've never been able to do it. I just messed with the gear ratios on mine, nothing with the TCS, etc. I tried messing with the downforce and i still get my front wheels up in the air...

I don't like GT3, just because of everything it's missing.

GT2 has a million and one cars, PLUS theres a way for me and all my friends to race for pink slips. Since when do you make a game sequel with less features??

I like GT2 a lot but i haven't gotten it yet. I love how you could "race modify" a car. The used car feature was awesome and you could make a lot more money quickly i na game. In GT3 race modifying was not allowed because it ould of taken too much time and they could n't get the deal with the compnaies set on it. I assume that whats happen to the used cars too.

Follow this guide and you'll get faster. It sais you can go up to 500+mph that's what it sais.I've only been able to get around 450+mph but i haven't tried it again.Had to load my previous save so that that speed doesn't get saved. :) Kinda stupid going that fast.

EDIT:Here's the guide. It's somewhere in that text, just search for escudo

I wish they had some snow rallies. I also wish that they had more in depth rally racing.

You'd figure that the cars they used for Initial D weren't all that great- But the Trueno drifts like mad. I have the best replay of me drifting through about 80% of the corners on Trial Mountain. If you want a good drifter... go with the Toyota Trueno- It'll get you sideways without a doubt.

ok broke it out today , needed something to do while i posished off that botte of jeagermister so heres some lap times at the seca

f094/h: 1'03.755f686/m: 1'07.969Nissan Z concept : 1'17.821Vertigo Race Car: 1'19.282

The z was the best out of the closed wheel cars to drive running raceing muffler and air cleaner , stage 3 N/A tune, ecu and all the other goodies possible for it says it has 572 HP

have the zonda racecar and made a 1'17.497 lap , not sure what one your running tho , brakes on the thing blow chunks and had tcs on , lemme know how yours is setup ill give it a try

for fun tho we built a z06 vette , full on ran simualtion tires on the back , grippyest tires on front , no tcs no abs or any of that stuff , its a hoot trying to keep from looping the basturd

I put simulation tires on some cars before... bad idea without TCS. I could barely move, the car slid like it was on ice all the time!

Hmm you are doing better than me with the Zonda, last night I turned a 1:19.732 and again I hit a wall bad once. My brother in on the ps2 so I can't get the setup.
