This looks immaculate, and the new GT-R to pull it all together.

I'm not excited about Gran Turismo as I used to be when I was young. It's just an arcade that lacks car damage. Id rather play with PC simulators for my racing fix. RPG's and action for consoles.

Have you seen the replay footage of GTHD??? All this stuff blows Forza(which I live off) out of the water, and the developers would be foolish not to put out an actual game that does so.

from what I am reading around gt5 WILL have damage along with dynamic weather. Lots more cars and stunning graphics. I would like to see better tire smoke along with the g25 wheel clutch support and get rid of the counter steer of death. Oh ya, also, some realistic engine/exhaust sounds as well. Brake fade would be cool too, same with engine temp/overheating.

most definantly, also always wanted to paint cars, some race style bumpers ( not gayas$ crap like in NFS), have different rim sizes to choose from, would love some weather variations, tuning even further like turbo boost, and other lttle things.., more RACE cars (more alms definantly, prototypes, real F1, I NEED FERRARI AND LAMBORGHINI), tire fade is kinda quick, and a little more difficult.

Gran Turismo is a beast game though, I just love the realistic gameplay on it, would love to see an upgrade is all im sayin

I have to give to Forza 2 though, you can see the actual temps of the tire and I like how the damage works. I only played it for like 30 minutes though, If I had the 360 I would definantly have this game.

GTHD Looks pretty nasty. You really need to watch the gt5 part 1 and 2 in HD to get a good feal for it. I saw it a few nights ago and it looks amazing. GTHD demo is cool as hell too. I more of a fan of the GT series there are many things about forza that piss me off to no end, and the fact that my car doesnt take damage is fine. Most people turn off the damage effects in forza so same same.

Yea i know what you mean. I bought myself a new PS2 just to play GT4, pre-ordered it the day it was available to pre-order and even went to some release party thing going on at the Gamestop I pre-ordered it at. They gave us all lanyards, posters and other various GT4 stuff.

Played nearly non-stop every chance I could.

Then I got Forza. GT4 hasn't been played ever since. If they seriously revamp the physics and driving dynamics to be more realistic in GT5 similar to the way they are in Forza, then I might consider picking it up.

forza 2 is just more fun, cuz its updatedbut not having a 240 S13 hatch in it kills me everytime

but they'll put in like 7 different civics and 19 different race ferraris

I used to be a huge GT but pd's failure to up the physics in GT4 kinda killed ther series for me. Now if GT5 can deliver those amazing visuals + in dash views for every car + physics that actually try to be realistic then forza will be in trouble.......thats assuming this comes out before forza 3 does.

here is some more information on Gran Turismo 5

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/813/813424p1.html

the light reflection and shadows are awesomely realistic. Also looks like there might be some motorcycle racing included in GT5. I just can't imagine what Gran Turismo 6 is gonna look like.

With the mention of how a steering wheel usually comes out along with the release of Gran turismo 5, maybe they will have one with a clutch.

Alot of you guys that are saying GT4 had bad physics, did you play with all the computer assists on?? because when you turn it off all its much more realistic IMO.

Forza doesn't do it for me, I like having eighty million 1980's 60hp microcars and vintage 70's JDM iron. Forza doesn't have all of that.

The one thing that GT4 severely lacked was the "background" info on each of the cars, the way that GT3 had it when you went to buy.

I'd like a narrated history of each vehicle, voice-acted, to play as an option when I'm casually lapping it around a circuit.

I buy driving games like this to acquire all the cars and play with them, the racing is just how I get the money to do that.

I never understood the need for real damage either. If you car suffers any sort of real damage, the race should just be over, why would you be driving a materially damaged car around?

They DO need to teach the AI not to hit you though, it just follows a fixed path and doesn't have any sort of real avoidance, that is a problem.

That said, GT > Forza

If anyone has played GTHD concept or whatever they have at the sony store/ebgames/gamestop or where ever, the gameplay is much different than that of GT4. The physics/dynamics of the car are much different, the counter-steer of death is gone and the car is prone to slide depending on how you drive the car into corners. There is also a drift mode based on points, to that means there has to be some kind of improved sliding dynamics in the game as well. The concept version still does not leave tire marks on the track nor have improved tire smoke. Maybe I am looking at the "concept" version too harshly, since gt5 is not due out for 1 year + some. Will have to see how stuff works out.

Yes all assists off the game has artificial understeer that is there on purpose to make the game more accesiable to gamers. Simple test start a new race with a FR car turn the wheel all the way left or right and redline it then take off the brake...........unless the car has huge power it will more or less plow straight ahead where forza, enthusia, pc racers, and real-life will do dounts like they should, this is what most people refer to when they say gt4 jas poor physics. Thats GT4 though i have played GTHD?? at the demo kiosk at EB games and can say that the understeer problem has been greatly improved........not as good as forza 2 but improved.

If you read through the BS posts on the youtube link, some guy hosted the song via some hosting site. I searched for the title of the song, but couldn't find anything.

The GT HD Demo was grainy as hell, but the physics certainly were nice.

Luckily the GT5 footage looks much better, so hopefully the final product will look like that.

Check out the newest video from Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (Right below the video player is a link to download the 720p versions)

http://www.gran-turismo.com/en/movie/d1109.html

This also a pretty cool video...

The 50th Skyline Birth Anniversary Moviehttp://www.gran-turismo.com/en/movie/d1072.html

The physics in GT5 looks like they are going to be a lot better then in Forza 2. Judging by the replay videos I have seen from both games, Forza doesn't seem to have any body dive. Sure the wheels and suspension react to bumps in the road but the body does not move at all.

Compared to GT5 where you can immediately see body roll and dive under braking/turning. On top of that the graphics are looking phenomenal. However, compared to GT4 the physics were still amazing in that game. Of course i can't say the under steer was bad, but with adjustments to the cars suspension, braking system, and driving assists you could almost get rid of the problem.

Either way I haven't actually played Forza 2 (or 1 for that matter). I am contemplating on whether or not to buy it. From the videos it seems too much like an arcade. For those of you who've played it already. I am a pretty big GT4 fan, but I feel the problem with GT4 sometimes getting boring (I think its the sound in my opinion, those engine sounds were just waaaaaaay to quiet). Would you guys say its worth getting Forza 2?
