I was wondering...what car did you guys start off with when you started playing GT3? The choice of cars is very limited if you want a car with decent HP...I started with a MX-5 Miata and still use it...of course I'm not too many days into the game because I restarted a couple of time because I fell into a financial jam...Started once with the Bettle...just didn't do it...and once with PT Cruiser...not enough HP upgrades...

Generally the ca-s13, sometimes the ae86. This last time I started in the miata since I never used one really in game and havent played since way before I started auto-x, and gained a whole new respect for them out there. Then I bought another miata.... The first gen is turbo now and the new one is all motor...

I then won and fully modded a rx-8, lots of fun with that. I won a 3rd gen rx-7 and the same with that one as well... Its odd as my garage was all nissan the last many times I played and this time was all mazda and a sole 80's nismo r32 I won, but never drove...

I played for 200 someodd days and busted out the game shark for a minute so I could play with a r390 for a buck, and tried out the zz-ii.... I love the zz-ii as its awd, the size of a miata, 948hp, and 1100kg. But upon fully modding the one dollar r390 I realized why its always been my favorite car again..

So the zz-ii now sits in second, once again.

I started out with a Miata and hated it. Good handling, but zero power. What annoyed me was, you couldn't buy the CA18DET-equipped Silvia K, like you could at the beginning of GT1/GT2. That was the perfect beginner's car.

When I had enough money, I dumped the Mazda and bought a 180SX Type X. I took that pretty far, then I bought a Camaro SS and I got all the way to the Pro events before I changed to Silvia LM.

talk about brand loyalty, eh?

i think gt2 was the driver and tuners game, plus it had tons of older cars and the used car function. plus its better for drifting.

I agree, I really lamented the absence of all the classic cars from GT2.

And I thought Grindewald was a pretty cool track, also.

it's good to see, from prelim shots of GT4, that classic cars will be back in the next one, for real.

How did you get the LM silvia? Ive got the C-west Razo Silvia but I really want some of the LM cars in the game. Especially the silvia and the Impreza LM car.

ive never heard of the lm silvia. but my favorite car from gt3 is the calsonic skyline that thing is bad***

my miata has 266 HP right now...and thats with a stage one turbo, semi-racing exhaust, and the racing chip...I have quite a bit more I can do to it and probably get it into the 350 HP range...and I don't like the way it handles...it slides very easy...i'll probably need to buy some sports tires to control that a bit...

Maybe I'm wrong and it was the Razo Silvia I had. Although I swore there was an LM Silvia in the game too...

i started out with a miata j spec, the 1.8 version, i had it fully modded and won every race it could participate until the compettition got too strong, after winning the "intermidiate turbo-only race #2" about 10 times for 15 'gs each, i got myself a rx-7 and slapped a stage 4 turbo on it, 700 horses i won every single race with ease until i randomly won the Vertigo ( forget what company) a 1200 000 car.... so yeah, it only had 750 horses, but it was like 800 kg!! plus aerodynamics and other stuff too boot.

anyway thats the car i have now, every single other car i either sold, or used for its intended race ( like the Toyota vitz)

Hmmm I guess I dont run the ca-s13 off the bat... I just checked the base price... It was so long since I have last played before this new session I just started. So I guess its the ae86, most of the time, then the silvia.

Funny thing this time I forgot to mention is that I bought the best of "everything" for both miata's prior to buying a single power option, and was still doing very well in the classes I entered... It was something to entertain me, as having a 100k dollar plus car with 126 iirc hp was hillarious. BUT it did get me deeper into how to the suspension tuning works in gt3, and trying new odd settings out, then ever before. As with stock miata power all you can rely on is gearing and suspension setting to win a race. It took me about 6 or 7 tries in the amature 80's sports car series at the final seattle track with the 126hp miata to win with minor changes between retries, but my last gear change and slight toe adjustment gave me the edge.

Due to this all of my cars (same car and everything) are a bit faster then they where the last time I was really into the game...

I started with the mx-5 miata once, and the ae86 another time. Then I kept racing till I got the mines lancer evolution- one of my favorite cars in the game, second to my collection of skylines. Nothing beats the formula 1 cars though, and they are tons of fun if you like to completely dominate. You can also see how many times you can lap the competition, which is my only challenge in the game.

The Miata J-Spec is what I have now...nice luttle machine...just doesn't turn as well as I'd like it too...

i started with the ae86 too. But i havent played in a while that game is just boring too me now the first two ruled but #3 in my opinion sucked.

i started with the miata, then went to the integra type r, then i got to the cobra R. now i got over 80 cars, love em all, except the crap ones i won, btw, for the normal cars only endurance, i had lots of $ so i bought a jag XJ220, wow, total utter domination

My progression:Miata->Lancer Evolution V->Viper->Escudo

Now I pretty much stick to my Toyota GT-One or FTO race car... both of them are damn quick! I am still working on getting an F1 racer, but I'm too lazy to do endurance races.

Started with a red AE86 (didn't know of Initial D till later

)#2 car was a R33 Skyline i think#3 was RX-7 FD

Waaay later on like maybe 9 months later i started getting into drifting so a lot of my cars are drift mobiles. I even have some GT3 drifting recorded on my computer

I started off with the ae86 as well. had a stage 3 turbo on it, with like 360 hp or something... but at those speeds, it was easy to get the rear end to go all the way around. I have no idea what my second car was, but I do know that I bought a WRX for my 3rd car. then I won a bunch of races and sold all the cars I won, and bought the Espirit V-8, the $110,000 version. with a stage 4 and every other mod, that car owns any straightaway (1020hp or something). got a 9.25 on the quarter mile with that one.

my friend spent the night and we did the endurance race on the super speed way. just held the accellerator button down the whole time. used the walls to turn. ended up winning a F1 car. F1 owns all. 9.3 on the quarter. last time I checked best time on Laguna Seca was 1m 7sec.

and make sure you go into the car setup menu before a race, and take stability and traction control all the way to 0 to shut them off. lots of sliding around if you've just always left them where they were.

on a fresh gt3 start i went for my licenses first. Never even bought a car. i proceeded to get all golds on license A and B, which low and behold gave me an rx-8 and some other car which i promptly sold and so i ended up with like 50,000 for my first car.my best 1/4 mile is 9.1's with the RUF RGT.

i started with trueno then silvia. I have alot of cars and I drive them all, I choose my car by determining whats in the race, I like a close race

i started with an AE86 also but then i restarted cause i learned how to do this.....hacking the GT3 coding

oh, and then i made a lancer bodied F1 car with 4500hp, a skyline with a Lister storm V12 (still 4wd tho

) 2400hp with F1 tires a 4wd civic type-r powered by an F1 motor and an XJ220 with 1400 hp that went 1007mph

I started out with the Trueno, and then the MR2, im like 95 percent through the game now, the onl race i have left is the @#$#!^ Miata endurance race, which i will never do, instead i take the traction controll off skylines and do donuts and watch the replays like a dork.
