Look, I suck at typing. I suck at spelling, I use poor grammar almost all the time. But WTF is with everything going to shorthand web geek stuff. I mean, no capital letters bothers the **** out of me...what, you're to busy to hit the damn SHIFT key. I love to use Acronyms, but give me a break. This isn't your cell phone, this isn't a Gen Chat forum...this is a Tech Forum.

If you post crap, people are going to give you crap answers, if they answer at all. If you're bothering to reply, hello...use some grammar!!!

I'm probably going to start deleting stupid posts and adding a link to this thread for you to re-read. So don't be pissed off cause you lost a post here and there, if it was actually worth typing out, then it should be worth using atleast a couple of capital letters and a period or two.

ThanksWD

You mean my problem can't be 1 500word sentence? Don't know if I'm guilty of doing the sentences. But I do know I mispell quite a bit on getting letters backwards because I type too fast. I mainly do ign(ing) or liek(like)

I know it's not as bothersome as poor grammar but I find myself giving up reading people's problems when they have a HUGE paragraph without any breaks. I reccomend people slicing up thier paragraphs, especially on big ones.

Not to sound like a b**** but it is hard on the eyes and I'm not giving up my 20/20 vision for you guys! haha

Amen! I am a dyslexic and a terrible speller but some stuff is inexcusible. Not using a capital "I" when reffering to one's self. Or, no caps when starting a new sentance or using a proper noun. And, that stupid little kiddie shortcut stuff makes me want to slap someone in the back of the head. The only thing that stops me from going off on that stuff is not knowing if English is the person's 2nd language - in which case it is understandable.

The way a person communicates says a lot about a person. Do you want to give the impression that you are an ignoramus and a slacker or that you are a bright person with self respect and ambition?

Honestly, I don't know what it is with the world these days. What ever happened to "comb your hair, stand up straight, look a man in the eye when he talks to you, develop a firm hand shake, say please and thank you, learn to speak the Queen's English like you have half a brain, etc...

Now it seems that the mommy people of the world have taken over and told you that nothing is right or wrong and everything should be done according to whatever way makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.

I'm with WD for enforcing a standard measure of proper grammer.

My feelings are so hurt, seeing that I was born with no fingers and fish tails for hands makes it really hard to type correctly. I will do better.

I'll keep my comment brief. Proper grammar helps others to understand the problem more clearly. The technical nature of this forum lendsitself to a lack of clarity already on many occassions. Add to it poor grammer and run-on sentences and it becomes hard to understand what a person is talking about. Now, noone is saying you need to be perfect. God knows I've got a long list of typos out there, but it's not a lot of effort to use Capitalize the letters that should be and put comms and periods in the right places. I doubt you'ld send a technical write up or question to a business client in such a manner would you? Most of us should be able to write in at least a 6th grade level. I recall using periods commas and capital letters back then...

I may get some stuff wrong grammatically, especially get some letters backwords becausee I type fast, but come on has our educational systems failed to the point where most of the people on these car boards can't type worth ****. The biggest offenders are the people on this board who can't even speak proper english, it's like a mish mash of ghetto ebonics, web speak, and just plain outright butchered engrish. I understand that NICO has members from around the world and there are people on here that can't speak english correctly, after all US English is THE single hardest language to learn. But come on if you really have that hard of a time with the language there is a wonderful button on the reply screen it is the SPELL CHECK.... ----> .

The only thing worse than some of these posts' grammar are the drunk posts, if you're drunk write it down and post when you're sober....

I have no problem with someone who doesn't speak the language, but not speaking a language doesn't mean you don't use capital letters, or use paragraphs instead of one long *** sentence.

English is by far the easiest language I ever learned and I know three other.

English also has so many words borrowed from other languages I often get that mixed up, and when I get baked oh boy its fwakin over.

As for the spelling button well some people use the quick reply option but a way around that is to get your self Firefox 2.0 it has an automatic spell checker. So all in all with all the gadgets coming out there really is no excuse for horrible posts. I know my grammer sucks and spelling is not the best but I try.

I don't think anybody is trying to rip on non-native English speakers. If they are, it's awfully weak. Spelling is no big deal either since everybody knows what the word is anyway. It's the guys who speak in run on sentances and the like that are a real PIA.
