so today i was moving, i was driving my car while i noticed some smoke behind me, thought it was someone else, got to a stopsign and i noticed smoke was billowing around me, so my house was just around the corner, i stopped and looked under my car, OIL EVERYWHERE, the front of the engine is covered and the valley under the plenum has oil in the first sections of it, the leak is i belive coming from the hydraulic timing guide tensioner gasket, this is the second time this has gone out on me, very very upset, anyone had this happen? or knows a fix? im putting silicone on it now so i can make it to connecticut this weekend, i need to find another gasket when im there.

luckily i stoped before all the oil from the pan leaked out. upsetting that castrol synthetic blend at 5.30$ a QT, has 800 miles on it and is almost all gone. . .

PS, i know i should have researched but this thread is more about me venting then finding information . . thanks

$5.30/qt for synthetic blend? You need to shop smarter as that is too much to pay for a blended oil!!!!!! Mobil 1 0w-40 FULL synthetic can be had for $4/qt if bought wisely.

You should be more concerned about the wear on your bearings.

I have a feeling you won't have to drive your car back from CT if you make it there. You really need to park it until you can diagnose the reason the reassembly of the front timing covers was faulty.

so i dug into it today, the gasket decided to break and push out, the reason for that is that the o-ring under the gasket was weak and letting oil pressure by, the problem was fixed and hopefully wont start to leak
