I was just thinking about GPS systems and how convenient they are when going to new places. My mom's car has one and I have experienced their usefullness first hand. I just wanted to know how many of you here have one on your car and what are some good brands that will go well with my 95 240.

I have one of those handheld models that attatch to your PDA. it talks to tell when when a turn is coming up too, pretty nifty but I dont use it too much as I get too lazy to input addresses and such.

LOL, yea I guess. That only works if your planning on where your going before you leave. I'm a little more spontaneous than that sometimes.

Haha, nice. Yea the gps on my mom's car talks too. GPS is not really that necessary, but just nice to have once in while when your lost or decide to go somewhere for no reason.

LOL, just saw an ad in popular science magazine of their gps system. The screen is a little small though.

The one in the ad is the streetpilot 2620. I have no idea how big it is, but the ad is fullpage and has it set on the dash of a car. From comparing it the tachs, steering wheel, and ac vent, I think its about 4in by 6in max.

thats plenty big enough. when you go to the website, go to aviation, panel mount, and go to gs430. those are the ones we have in the planes, theyre only about 2x3 inches maybe and theyre fine because you can zoom in and out.

Carputer!

Mount an old laptop or something in your car and get a GPS receiver for it. I'm working on that myself; I haven't added GPS yet. So far it's just DVD/MP3 playback and a TV tuner.

Ditto the carputer!

Cheaper than standalone GPS systems and much more functional...

Getting lost is half the fun of going to new places. That way when someone says "do you know how to get there" you can say "I drove past there on my way here!" and then they'll be like, "that's 5 miles away from a direction you didn't even have to come in from"
