I bought a new Dualis in 2013 only to find the GPS was dated 2011.I requested an update from the Dealer and then from Nissan directly and was told there was an update available at a cost of $550.00. Iam furiously disappointed.

When specifically was the update released? When did you purchase your car?
I asked because not all GPS data are updated yearly. Some are on 2-3 year cycles and you may have been right on the cutoff for a new release.

I bought the car in April 2013 and the new version was already released

I'd probably go back to the dealership and make a fuss, especially since you bought it after the update. If that doesn't work, take it to Twitter. That tends to get corporate's attention pretty quickly.
