Got a Garmin for Christmas for the versa. Any ideas where to install it? How do you hide the wires?I'm thinking of putting it in the middle of the dash in front of the vents. I'm short...5'2" and need to be able to see in front of me.

If there is a thread about this already..please give link. Thanks!

I have a Garmin nuvi 260w myself. What I did was mount it directly above the storage compartment that is between the air vents on the dash with the dashboard mount. The disc with the foam tape that came with the dash mount didn't work well so I used velcro and velcroed the GPS on the dash.

The wires connected to the 12v connection were dangling around and I'm not sure where to tuck them at. You could purchase wire clips, the ones with 3M double sided foam tape and stick the clips around the instrument panel to the 12v connector.

Well I'm 5 3 so... I put the GPS unit at the bottom left of the windshield, beside the gauges. I run the wire through the bottom of the steering column up, to the left side near the door then up to the gps. On a bright day u can see through the column to the peddles, I route the power cord through there.

Why would anyone need a $100 mount? The GPS units come with basic mounting kits and even the one I used (in the thread I posted a link to) only costs around $14.

The wire across the dash that you saw in that other picture is only there if she wants to run the sound through the car stereo. There really isn't a need to do that since the unit is so close to the driver where I mounted it. You can hear it just fine. Most of the time it looks like this:

As for the connection in the fuse box, it's a clean connection that can only be seen if you open the fuse box and look at it. But if that bothers you, by all means, spend $100.
