GPS audio volume control not functioning

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Traded in my 2013 EX37 for a 2015 QX50 3 month ago.
Car is great except one issue that dealer and I have a battle.
The audio volume control on GPS is not working. I can set the volume level which stays constant but I can not adjust the volume
from the radio control or steering wheel control.

I am able to do that on my wifes 2010 EX35 and was able to do this on the2013 EX37.

Dealer argument is that this option is not provided on the 2015 QX50 !!!????

Please comment.

Thanks,

I would ask them to show you another QX50, and prove that its the same on another vehicle. If its the same, then the dealer is right (even though its stupid that you cannot adjust volume) and if it works on another vehicle then you proven your point and make them fix it.

I will do that....however that does not mean Infiniti is off the hook.
The GPS manual for the 2015 Infinitis indicates that this function is on all 2015 Infinitis and does not exclude the QX50.

I know that it works on Q50, 2014 and 2015.

Thanks...

Test drove 2016 QX50 last week...same problem.
Dealer does not have a reasonable answer.

Interesting thing that the main volume control and steering volume control work when talking to another caller on the cell ??!!

Dealer setting up a meeting for me with Canada Infiniti Service Rep....will report outcome after meeting.

Latest Update....

After many letters and meetings with the Infiniti Canada. Engineering has confirmed that they have a problem.
Infiniti recorded all computer paramaters from my 2015 QX50 and are working on a solution.

Once there is a software update I am sure Infiniti will issue a letter advising all owners of the software upgrade.

It is somehow amazing that nobody has complained of this audio control malfunction.

Good news !!!….Infiniti finally came up with a fix.
send someone from factory and updated software….took him 10 minute after waiting for over 6 month!

so if anyone has same issue and dealer gives you BS excuse u can refer them to Oakville Infiniti in oakville, Ontario
