I'm going to be installing an aftermarket GPS unit, and I'm wondering if anyone has had success with mounting their GPS antenna under the dash of their 2.5S sedan? I've heard that as long as there is no metal above it that the signal will typically work without a problem. Just didn't know if someone had actually done it with their Altima.

I think Doc did this. My antenna is mounted on my rear deck. You should be able to go under the dash without any problems.

I bought my kenwood dnx6140 from my friend and he gave me an aftermarket antenna which was 2 feet long. I couldnt mount it on the dash cause it was to short so i decided to mount it on the frame(antenna had a magnet back) inside the dash. I've have full bars on my gps and haven't had a single problem at all
