I was about to buy my Apex N1 exhaust on Enjuku and I saw the GP Sports exhaust that I had never seen before. I dont think its a bad looking exhaust at all. Anyone have it or know about it? And also, is there that much of a difference (other than looks) between the Apex N1 Single and Dual exhaust and do you recommend one over the other for some reason? I dont want to spend the extra $120 for the dual exhaust look.

The Apexi exhausts are just looks, alot of people like the dual canister look. Personally I hate it, but to each his own. No more power is to be had with either setup, nothing above a couple hp maybe.

Apex is just looks?

Actually apex makes the best flowing, best sounding, and best quality system for our cars, it is a difference, especially when you start squeezing more horses through the exhaust...

So your wrong, apex makes quality gear...

Haha I dont think the Apex is for looks. It has been proven that it makes good horsepower gains for cheap. Anyway, I just read the review by movingviolation so I didnt really need to post this thread. Thanks tho.

My friend had a GP sport and it sounded so nice. He sold the car, and I didn't know or else I would have bought the exhaust from him. Its really a good deal for a good exhaust.

i bought movingviolation's GP sports exhuast off him. my sig has the site and there is a half decent pic of it. im waiting for my turbo kit to come in so right now i have the stock exhaust manifold back on and the GP sports. it sounds great i really mean it. i thought goin up to 3" was goin to be too loud and sound ****y without turbo but its really nice. of course i used to have a hotshot header and 2.25", the header made it louder

Haha! Sorry guys, I use Apexi also. Actually my favorite exhaust ever is the Apexi Dunk, too bad it's discontinued.

What I was saying is the difference between N1 and N1 dual is just looks, not performance. Sorry guys.

First off hello!

I have the A'PEXi N1 Dual on my 240(currently awaiting a T onto that KA). I saw this thread and figured I should say something:

My exhaust gets me tons of people talking. It is deep, low, and grumbly. It sounds awesome at full throttle. Basically I would recommend it to anyone. I noticed decent gain the upper RPM's with it for sure.

Actually no, RSR is the best looking/sounding/flowing exhaust on the market. To bad no one offers them stateside.

I'd hope that would be chaning soon, since RS-R seems to be trying to be make their presence known in the US market. I don't think they have any dealers listed on the site yet.

Edit: They have an s14 in their exhaust image gallery. Very nice.

When i said best lookings flowing, etc...

Looks are up to interpretation, it depends on your tastes...

It could very well flow like crazy... but I cant get them as readily as i can get an apex exhaust...

Sound also tends to be a preference.....

Hey WD,

Just wanted to let you know that I can acquire RSR exhaust systems from my supplier, but I do believe they are special order.

I think SCC had a exhaust shootout on the impreza WRX, two highest were apex-i and HKS, apex-i made more HP than the HKS if I recall, but the HKS made smoother HP and a bit more torque.-chet(not sure if RS*R was tested)I like apex-i. I wish I could do flow tests on each exhaust and end any debate...-

I believe that you can get the R-SR exhaust through Phase2motortrend. I saw it on their website the last time I was there.

what about HKS? i know that they don't make the duals but i thought that HKS made the best flowing exhaust. (personaly i like the sound of the HKS my self. I like the deep tone of the HKS more over the Apex) if not the best atleast they are equal?? and no i didn't read the rest of the thread

tru tru i had the apex but b4 i put it on my car, my dad made me sell it. so my boy wit a siliver 00' celica had it (totaled the car and now he's going for a GTS) but i have an SPW exhuast wit custom piping. it sound really nice, deep tone and it doesn't "fart" like these damn civics. but my fan clutch is now shot and my engine over powers the sound of the exhaust so thats that until i fix it.

Anything over 60mm (about 2.25") is useless for our cars unless they're turbocharged...stay away from the big piping, even if its only 2.5". Dual N1's are WAYY too big for NA...you want SOME exhaust velocity...big pipes mean slower exhaust gas velocity, especially on a stock engine, and you want such gasses exiting your engine as quickly as possible. I myself HIGHLY recommend Tanabe's exhaust systems, I think they're one of, if not the best system for a NA 240...I'll be using it for my car once its turbocharged too, and I assure you the piping will still be plenty big. It's the 60mm "Hyper Medalion" super or something like that--sounds really ricey, but the fit and finish of this thing were GORGEOUS. Absolutely gorgeous. All the welds, the bends, etc were very professional and flawless. Plus, it's made out of 100% T-304 stainless steel exhaust, the best kind they make. With my header and CAI, the exhaust is still very quiet below 3000, past 3500 and especially into 4000, it roars beautifully.Just my $.02
