Ok. I have read posting's here about this and I would like to know what is involved in getting into the computer to snip the "apparent" yellow wire with the green stripe to stop the speed contoller from working but still have my gauge console working.Plus if anyone knows, since I live in Canada,if the the US and Can models have the sme wire's in the computer. If anyone can let me know I would appreciate it.

go to 240sx.org and its in the FAQ's, also, search, you'll be hearing that a lot since all basic things have already been covered. be aware that there is a rev limiter which will limit you to maybe about 130 mph, i don't think there's a difference in the US and Canadian models as far as this wire, all i know is canadian cars have something different abou seatbelts and day-time running lights

btw, is it an S13 or S14 and stick or auto? i think the auto doesnt have a rev-limiter

Thanks dude.Im not to concerned about the rev-limiter because I hope to swap my motor by next spring.I just sick of it cutting out at 190km.Do you know how embarrising it is to be beaten by a stupid honda all because of a fu**ing governer.Plus I dont know about the seatbelt thing but ya we have day time lites.I just took them out.Plus ALL Can made 240's have the LSD regardless of model year.By the way very,VERY nice ride.Hope you have more planned (turbo, engine, ect) for your baby.

I forgot to answer this ?.It's a fastback.I will soon be changing to a S15 (strawberry) front end from extreme dimensions. So I will have a Sil-Eighty.

Don't forget after snipping the wire you need to unplug the 5th gear sensor in the transmission. It's the furthest one back on the transmission looking at the side with the sensors. If you dont, the car will still cut out when you try to go pass 5000 rpm. If you rev pass 5000 rpm in 4th you should pull that one as well. The 4th gear sensor is right in front of the 5th gear.

Whatever ya do, don't just disconnect the 4th and 5th gear wires and think you'll get away with it. I still need to get around to cutting the speedo wire and wiring it to a switch on the console. hey, Matt, do I need also to frikin rewire the Rev one too? I would think that i wouldn't cuz i pulled the 4th and 5th sensors, so I'd imagine the ECU doesn't know what gear I am in, so It shouldn't be able to cut out?

please Reply ASAP, cuz next sunny day on the east coast, and I'm rewiring ;)

Cut yellow wire, put it to switch, and just flip the switch when you are going to go above your govenern (if its always cut your engine light will come on) also unplug your sensors, no problems there, i had it donw for about 2 months before i wrecked my car...

Thanks to you all.As soon as I have a nice day here I will take a look at it.Who know's I might just wait for my motor swap but I don't think I can take the motor cutting out anymore.Ofcourse it wont matter about speed once the snow come's.God I hate living here in the winter time.Oh well Im still going drifting.
