governer/rev limiter

ok i've already searched the forums for the answer and I found conflicting info so I need a firm answer on this one. If I snip the ecu wire for the governer does it shut off my tach/speedo? also if I unplug the 4th/5th rev limiter does it shut off my speedo/tach. I dont know if it matters but its a 91 240 coupe se Thanks in advance

I did both on my 93 SE f/b and I still have EVERYTHING fully functional. You wouldn't know I did anything untill you go past 115mph.

The first time I cut the wrong yellow/green wire and it disabled my cruise control however. But I crimped it back together and cut the other one and problem solved.

which wires are they and where are they located? i have an 89 240 F/B 5 speed...with the sohc...a picture of the wires and location would deff help...also i heard that they check for this during inspections...
