I have 2002 Nissan Maxima SE 6 speed manual and when I rev high the engine the throttle shuts off and I have to turn off the car and start it again to drive it. Is there away to stop it from doing that?

How high are we talking? You may be hitting the fuel cutoff.

The rev limiter on a Nissan shouldn't affect the operation of the car, after you let off the gas, unless you're holding it at redline. I'm not sure what it'll do if you hold it at redline, since that is my que to shift, or back off the gas pedal.

Our rev limiters are a spark cut. That is why the car surges so wildly when you hit it. There is a possibility that if the rev limiter is hit for a certain period of time, that it may shut down the car, but that is unlikely.

Do you have a CEL (Check Engine Light) that is lit up?
