Hopefully, this is now truly in the past.

By the way, "But after she became John McCain's running mate, she said the investigation had become too partisan and filed an ethics grievance against herself with the personnel board."

Interesting that she filed against herself ...? I did not totally understand this (and am not entirely sure what this means, per se).

It doesn't matter now. The damage is already done, this news will not be publicized heavily, and it is so close to election day people won't hear it. Oh well, I can only hope Obama isn't as bad a president as people think Bush was.

She filed the complaint against herself so that her own appointees would get to evaluate the complaint. So, no, not independent.

Uh, uh. Not accurate.

It was an independent investigation that had nothing to do with "her own appointees" - that is a far-fetched stretch. Please reread the link I posted.

As she has been positioned by the media as being corrupt and she is hated by those with Dem-views it's a moot point. Hell, if McCain wins we will hear about how we elected a VP who is a criminal regardless of the rulings. It's the way it goes. Just look at the people who despise Bush and refuse to regard anything he does as successful.

I did. Please explain how it's not accurate and a far-fetched stretch rather than weakly telling me to reread an article.

The Personnel Board consists completely of Palin appointees. And the timing and public release of this report is not fishy at all.

Sigh ... today's kids and their reading skills. Sad!

What part of the phrase "independent investigator" did you not understand?
ishkabibble wrote:The Personnel Board consists completely of Palin appointees.
And, you know this for a fact? Wow! Did you already look, or is this an attempt to deny reality. Besides, the investigator was independent - regardless of the appointee status.

Link, please - I don't see it. If so, I will stand corrected ...

However, "independent" is still true.

Here: http://www.kansascity.com/445/story/873925.html is what they said:

A new report, released on the eve of Election Day, exonerates Gov. Sarah Palin in the "Troopergate" controversy and directly contradicts earlier findings of an investigator for the Alaska legislature.

The new state Personnel Board-sanctioned investigation is the second into whether Palin violated state ethics law in firing her public safety commissioner earlier this year.

The board is set up in state law as an independent agency to hear complaints of violations of state ethics law brought against executive branch employees. Members are appointed by the governor, though Palin had a role in appointing only one of the three current members.

From the Los Angeles Times: http://www.latimes.com/news/na...story.

The personnel board consists of three appointees, all of whom were originally appointed by former Republican Gov. Frank Murkowski. Palin has since reappointed one of them. The members serve six-year terms and can be fired only for cause.

By the way, yet more from the Los Angeles Times article:

In a sharply worded rebuke, the new report from independent investigator Timothy J. Petumenos accused the investigator for the state Legislative Council of using the wrong statute to evaluate Palin's conduct, misconstruing the available evidence and failing to obtain all the "material" evidence needed to "properly" evaluate the case.

Can I see YOUR homework now, please?

Or, are you (like most other libbies here) unwilling to acknowledge your errors and mistakes when proven wrong?

Hmm, my source (Talking Points Memo, who normally is rather objective and admits when they are wrong) was completely wrong about the entire Board being appointed by her.

Here is an factual report on the matter:

http://www.adn.com/front/story/577718.html

So you are completely right, and I am completely wrong. My apologies.

Ouch!
