Last pic is a tire valve, which the cap will be stolen off, and then the thief will be shot by the OP lol

haha, my group of friends use to steal those all the time. Whats the point, just to show people look what i got? Or to put it on your bike.

Is that valve tpms ready?

No... a tpms IS a tire valve...

There arent valves that are "tpms ready", because the valve is the tpms...

A TPMS looks like that valve, but instead of the black plug on the inside end, its a small metal box that contains the components.

tpms? tire pressure monitoring system...??? Also brings a question I have had for awhile, with aftermarket tires will they be able to work with tired pressure monitoring systems on our cars or do we have to live with the yellow exclamation mark?

Chuck a search for "tpms" would yield these results...

Essentially, if you dont want the light lit, you need tpms in the wheels, they can be put in pretty much all wheels (as long as your not getting 22"s, or $4,000 3pc wheels)

Once they are swapped into the new wheels, they may need to be "resynched" by the dealer.

Tires have nothing to do with it chuck, the tpms stays in the wheel.

those are the exact wheels that i wanted to put on my sedan.

but why did you get so small, although they do weigh like 14lbs or something like that.

i wanted to get them in 19x8.5 with a 22mm offset, but im still undecided on which wheels i want.

please post quite a few pictures of them on the car after they are installed, im dying to see how they look.

how much did you pay?

That's about one of the lightest 17s you can find. > 10#s lighter than stock.

For all the others asking why 17's, he said in another thread he was sizing down for better ride quality.

General Exclaim UHP 225/55 They are very light as well. Only 20 pounds, so my whole wheel assembly is less than 40 pounds. Wootness!
dldjros69 wrote:Is that valve tpms ready?
The RP-F1 is one of those rare wheels where the design (perhaps because it's Japanese) doesn't allow the OEM TPMS to be installed. I now have a lit warning light but I don't really care. The initial acceleration and braking is way more than worth it. I also have TPMS valve caps that notify me of my tire pressure whenever I do a once-around.

I got them from Vivid Racing for $216.74 each (shipping seperate)

Like beeristasty said, I wanted more rubber and sidewall on the road. I've had 20s (blown on the highway) and 18s so you can't really say I haven't tested around.Just had them installed today. Will post pics in the morning.

I am a fan of RPF1, very nice track wheels and not expensive at all.

Your next upgrades should be rotors and coilovers. Reduce unsprung weight ftw

how come you didnt go with a wider wheel say 17x8.5, and go with a 235/50/17 tire.

you wouldve gotten more contact patch, and the width of the wheel wouldve supported the sidewall really well. i wouldve done that if i was getting 17's

Because he has a 2.5S...this is just an idea...but maybe a cross between the Weight Issue that he has brought up multiple times (He seems VERY happy they are VERY light) and also the wider you go the less MPG you get...the 2.5S means he is MPG consious...so that is just another idea.

17x7 is fine. He can still fit wider then stock tires on the wheels. 225 shouldn't be a problem.

After all, it's the contact that the tire makes with the road that determines handling, not the width of the wheel alone.

Plus they look great.

Not everyone is after ballerific 20x8.5 nonesense.

I'm looking forward to seeing them installed. I couldn't spot the offset in the pics, I hope it's very low (like +20) because 17x7 with high offset = sunken battleship.

Not all Advan Racing line are thin spokes, hence I didn't point at one model.

Thanks for rolling your eyes at me. Looks like you are having a bad day again. I am curious to what you call your AME FS-01 wheels then? From your definition, they look like competition wheels too.

By the way, Advan's, Enkei, and AME that use the MAT process are built in the same manufacturer.

Pics will be coming. I had a few crappy days myself. First I was locked out of my apartment on Easter the whole day till 2300 (no staff to open up the door). Then I did my trunk FatMat install and cut my hands all over. I'll probably take pics tommorow when the sun's shining bright

It seems people seemed to have missed that I've had 20x8.5 and 18x8's before so it's fair to say, this is what I like. I like the ride floaty and the tires cushiony. Yes, I've also had all the suspension upgrades before (Eibach, STB, front and rear end links). It's an Altima so before I turbo it, I'm going to stick with light and comfortable wheels. I could've went balls out and gotten a GT-R. Most folks who run wide tires probably don't race enough to notice the difference. My purchase decision is a combination of comfort, pricing, and brand recognition (Enkei supplies Team McLaren with wheels in Formula One in case people didn't know :D)

Got some pics. Not exactly where I wanted to be. Will be posting full-sized photos in a good background later on. Thinking about dropping it again with H&R's to get rid of that nasty wheel gap... Even though Eibach's are cheaper but that's all irrelevant in my time frame since I will be leaving the country for a bit.

Yep! Initial resistance was greatly reduced but the real treat was in the BRAKING! With the 20s and 18s, I had some close calls with running into people coming out of gas stations. Love it! I'm going to be done with the FatMat install tommorow as well. Hooooo boy... Can't wait!
