These aren't for sale anywhere in the US yet, much less anywhere else in the world. I live in the town the Corvette's are made, and seeing as how the XLR's have the same Chassis as the Vette, the two cars are made in the same plant. about 3 XLR's an hour compared to the 25-28 Vette's an hour. Anyway, this thing is NICE!!! For one thing, the doorhandles are BA!! To open the door, you put you hand behind an opening area on the door, and you push to little buttons very easily and the door opens. Its sweet. The ride and comfort is so much better than a C5. This car has the automatically adjusting suspension, which is the fastest adjusting suspension of any car in the world. The exhaust note is very nice from the Northstar V8. Has some pretty good power as well. Downside: no manual transmission available. Only a 'manu-matic" automatic transmission. So anyway, just though I would share my experience w/ the NICO crew.

That's awesome. One of my friends is an electrician and he is contracting at the Vette plant by you and had mentioned them being made there. He said they were bad a$$.

Cool Ben. BG is a great town to be in for anything Vette-related. Reminds me of the time when my dad worked for the local Nissan dealer and brought home a 300Z TT before they hit the market in 1990.

Was the car pretty quick? Should be a cool car for a mid-life crisis.

On my way from Nashville to Louisville a month or 2 ago, I passed a truck carrying 3 black XLRs. Those things are nice. I forgot they were built in BG.I thought the next Vette (C6) was supposed to be built on the XLR platform. I didn't realize it had so much in common with the C5. I guess the next Vette is gonna have a Northstar motor!?

Hey Ben, I wanna go for a ride!!

Andy, car was quick. The auto does the motor no justice though. I think they are supposed to do a 0-60 sprint of 5.4 secs or something close to that.

Jay, They don't have much in common with the vette at all except for the same chassis. interior, obviously exterior, and motor are all completely different.

No pics of the one i road in. If you know what they look like, this one was a silverish/tan color. it was very beautiful, but the car was dirty because the guy that was driving it had taken it to an auto show in detroit the previous week. he usually takes vettes, but got an XLR this year.

They had one on display at the Philly Auto Show. It was on a turntable, so I couldn't get in it. I'm not a big fan of the cookie cutter styling GM is starting to use more, but I gotta admit, it works on that convertible. Very sexy looking car. (Very cute spokesmodel too). but Lotsa neat gizmos, the door handles were nice, the keyless door opener, air conditioned seats and the way the convertible top retracts were all very cool. I'd love to test drive one.

I dont think it looks like a vette at all....I dont know what the C6 is going to look like though. They may have some similiar design on things.

i would still take a SC 430 over it. There is an aftermarket for the Lexus, and its cheaper than the cadillac, and probably last longer than the cadillac.

Caddy looks better, even with the very sharp lines (imo), is faster (its a luxury car though. who cares about speed), and you have got to love those doorhandles. i just think the SC 430 is one of the ugliest cars in production today, along with the new ES300's. I hate those.

ES300 is ugly I agree, but with Japanese market being so easy to get parts from, Soarer(JDM) parts are very HoTTT and can have a lot of stuff done to it and look better than what it looks like now. And with the Mark Levinson SPeaker system, its like driving in a stadium.

I know nothing about the Lexus, but I'm sure it does have an awesome aftermarket. I bet it can look better with some body mods, but, factory they are so ugly.

i think its the rims that make it look so bad. maybe if they put some rims which were opened up instead of looking like a big ugly circle it would be better.

If the car is taken care of, of course it will run for along time, regardless of the make (most makes at least)

but i can bet you they are a lot more Lexus' running around than Cadillacs in the last 10 years and probably been to the dealer less.

But with regular maintenance newer cars can basically last a long time anyway as was just said.

Top 2 on JDPower list (least ownership problems) last year: Lexus and Caddy.

Pretty impressive.

I think the SC430 is butt-ugly. Especially the wheels.

I agree w/ Hitman. SC430=butthole. Get a G35 coupe, add a supercharger, nitrous, etc. Those things are sooooo beautiful.

Nick :)

P.S. EVERYONE drives a freakin Lexus. I don't notice them anymore. BUT an Infiniti still catches my eye and most others around town.

I agree. SC430 very comfortable inside, but fugly outside. Though I wouldn't mind an LS430.

Everyone has lexus (like it was said earlier)......

I was origionally looking at a cadillac (eldorado or STS), but I came across the Q, and my friends asked me "why did you get that"..... And I said, because I am like one of three people in the whole city that have one..... Caddys are everywhere!!!!!

Are the caddy boards really that good? What do you talk about? How well the car is riding or something?

Not all caddy boards are created equal..... This just started up in december, and our membership has exploded...... no, we dont have meets or any group buys (yet), but we are getting there......

And becuase we are so small, 75% is cadillac related, and the rest is just laid back discussion...... Most of ends up making fun of ricers, and stuff like that....... There really arent too many serious technical issues (maybe 10%).......

Some of you should drop by just to talk........

Thats cool that it is a good place to talk to other people. That is kinda what NICO is to me. I have met so many awesome people on here. And I have learned an enormous amount on info. on here as well.
