Got the SR started today...

Well gang,It official... I haven't had much time to work on the Vert, but I took this week off from work and dedicated some time to her. I finally got everything put together with the SR ... got the 5-speed done at same time... unplugged the crank sensor and let it crank a few times to make sure the oil pump got primed.. and she started.. looks like she'll make it to NOPI this year.. still have a bit to do.. have to put the interior back together... have to figure out the belts.. bleed the clutch... more (even took out the block and rebent the lines)... bleed the cooling... etc.. the little stuff... I will take some pics over the next few days and get some phone video.. I do want to say thanks to everyone here for help with answering questions..... Keep ya'all posted..

sweet congrats man 5spd and sr all at the same time you must be really happy. now you can really enjoy that vert. theres nothing like driving with the top down hauling ***. .

when is nopi I think im going to try to make it this time.

Nopi nationals is September 20-21 if I'm not mistaken. I'm hoping to go with my boosted vert, but not sure if I'll make it or not. $4 / gallon would also keep me home...

If the weather is nice I'll roll her out to take some pictures in regular light... the color is actually very red.. almost the color of the NICO logo. But given the light ... yes it looks like Chevy Orange... the inside of the engine compartment is a hammered effect (think like a tool box finish)in black with a gold metal mix, which I did so that any future touch-ups would be easy and not stick out like a repair. I'm hoping the wife can get out there with the camera and snap some better pics. Weather is supposed to be pretty crappy (that cold front moving in w/some tornado like storms). Hoping for some nice weather Sunday and maybe take a trip around the block after bleeding clutch and trying to fab a bracket for the PS pump... we'll see.. more pics to follow..[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

You mean there are other seasons?.. just kidding Dex... I know you've had a pretty tough winter up your way... had top down in other car for at least the past month... itching to get the Silvert out though..

How is everything going on the house?.. I remember hearing you were getting the jerk around by the insurance co. They like to do that.. put you off in hopes you get aggrevated and do stuff on your own... Hope you two are back in and back to a somewhat normal life again...

Still living with the in-laws. Things are moving along, but kind of slowly.

I'll update that thread sometime this week. Thanks. Our weather is starting to get nice and we're itching to get the vert back out.
