I have a 1989 240sx with a SR swap. the motor prolly has around 100K on it. stock turbo, stock injecters. with almost ever bolt on. i change the oil every 2K with red line 10W40, its my DD and i baby the hell out of it. but just today it devloped a lifter tick, it only goes on for about 30sec once i start driving. i let it warm up for 1 min every time i start it. i checked the oil its perfect. Any ideas on what could be causing it???

Well even though you baby your car, unfortunatly hydraulic lifter become clogged and even just fail from contamination. Also, I think you are using the wrong weight oil. The 10w40 could be too thick a viscosity and isn't able to flow adequitly through that specific lifter, for what ever reason (contamination, restriction, etc.). You can go throught the hassle of removing it and cleaning it, or do your self a favor and just replace it so you don't have to do everything twice.
