Ok, so after riding in my 240 w/ an RB20 swap my father wanted to do one. He bought an RB20DET clip from a guy off Ebay back in August. I believe this guy's name was Rob Cantrell from Washington state. Anyway yesterday the WORST looking motor ever arrives at our door. Instead of an RB20DET clip we got stuck with this crappy SR motorset with cut harness, broken CAS, rust all over the place, WATER and corrosion INSIDE cylinder #1, no ECU, bent fuel rail, no igniter, no MAF, and umm I'm sure other crap that I can't think of right now. I'll post up pics and more details of this guy's ebay names later (since he has had 4-5 over the past few months and will continue to create more)

Ben

Isn't that the same Rob that screwed over Night and his customers?

Damn, what a douche.

Anyways, sorry to hear about that. What is your dad going to do about it?

Well, he was wired back $1200 of the $1500 + shipping he paid to get the RB20 clip. He's also got some other legal avenues he's going to pursue, but I shouldn't really discuss those on here.

sorry to hear about the scam.

But to deliver some harsh love, what the hell were you thinking?

There's a billion posts about ebay motors, and now you're just another ebay horror story.

Hope you can get it worked out.

Buying from a company is indeed usually a better deal than on ebay.

Bvuit sometiems you get lucky I bought a 195 VH45de for only $1500 ( needed about $1000 in new sensors etc which is normal).

If you decide to get another motor or RB front clip there are plenty of people in GA who will sell you quality stuff that you can usually see before you give them a dime.

Remember, I didn't buy this. My father did. I bought my RB20DET front clip from Jarco up near Atlanta. It was in pristine condition. I know better, he doesn't ;) Maybe he will listen to me next time though.

Hmm not really sure yet. We may just try to part it out. 3 coil packs, the alternator, the AC compressor, the TPS, the PS pump, 3 injectors, and a few other things appear to be undamaged.

We've got another SR coming in within a few days, so we may end up keeping this one for parts. Or we may try to sell it as is, making sure people know it probably will not run without some major overhaul (ie if someone's looking for a block to build).

I've got some pics up at http://www.anberoka.com/240/sr

If you know anyone thinking of buying a motor from a Rob somebody in Washington state, tell them to look at this pitiful SR that was supposed to be an RB20DET clip before buying.

Yeah, maybe it fell off a tanker ship, and he fished it out of the ocean. I got my motor on ebay, and it was very very clean compared to that! 1800 shipped for my blacktop, runs great. But like everything else on ebay that is used, its luck of the draw.

We figured the ship's anchor broke so they used this engine as one. It sure looks like it was submerged by all the salt water corrosion and water marks on it.

I am one of the people that has been waiting for my RB25 clip. My email is [email protected]. Email me your info on Rob. I really want to see this guy in jail for a long long time. I would also sue him for all you can.

I could use the broken crank sensor. I am doing an SR20 with a Tec II and I could use the broken sensor to plug the hole. I may also need the SR PS pump.

Before he starts selling any parts, he wants to see if it will sell as a complete (as complete as this engine can be) package.
