YES! I finally made it to 100 posts!!

So I've got a pretty fair amount of money from graduation... but it's not quite enough to do anything major for my s13 (going turbo). So should I: spend it on other stuff for my s13, buy a new project fc rx7 (awesome deal), or buy more tools (engine hoist, timing light, welding machine, etc)? Or I guess I could always save it lol

lol it's a really nice fc too. Gxl, engine needs new apex seals, dope enkei rims, $700. Quite a deal I'd say. I'll see if I can post up some pics in a little while.

I'm all for having a backup car, for when your main project is down.

If not, get cracking on suspension/braking mods.

Yeah, it's sort of an investment getting another car. That way I can spend like 95% of my time on my main project. And I can do things and not have to worry about having my car running for school/work the next morning.

I'm already making a little progress on brakes and suspension. I've got a new MC, Q45 upgrade, tie rods, and Nismo Tokico struts. I need some strut bars, bushings, and some new tension rods next.

Graduation from what? Highschool?

If its highschool then save money for college.

Use it to go on a study abroad trip or to travel the world. The experiences and memories will last you a lifetime. You can always buy a 240 and work on it later

He's stating that he's preaching...basically saying dropping the books, grab the wheel. Spin those tires, make em squeal.

So when one break something, you can drive the other... But I wouldn't get an FC, though. That's just cuz I don't know what I'm doing with rotories...

Im going to bring some common sense to the FC idea. You realize if the engine needs new apex seals, it could also need new housings, maybe even new rotors, possibly new oil control ring springs, possibly apex seal springs, and possibly new side seals . I would say if the engine had a good size failure you will probably need to buy housings that are not wiped out from apex seal shards. The rotors will probably survive, but if the engine had bad detonation(apex seal shards could also destroy a rotor) you might also need a new rotor/ rotors. When you tear down a rotary engine you will need a new gasket set including coolant seals. The irons could also have some damage from corrosion, so possibly a new set of those as well. In all essence the rebuild could cost any where from 1500-3000.

I would concentrate on a single car, I made the mistake of spending money on two cars( my FD, and S14). It has taken me double the time to "finish" both cars, instead of only concentrated on one. Your a big boy so you can make your own decision, Im just sharing a regret of so maybe you can avoid making my mistake.

I would also like to vote no new car. I bought my 3rd car like a year and a half ago. 2 of them are sitting right now cause I have no money.

Also agree, save for the raping that is college. Man what a racket it is.

If you going to get a 2nd car get something practical

Save, and stick with your original 240 love plans.Car is down?Walk.Too far? Walk to a bus stop.No busses? Invest in a cheap BMX for a couple hundred bucks..To big to ride a BMX? Shrink. Can't shrink, learn to fly. If you can't do that..Then invest in another car, or use your parents as a taxi cab 'cause I understand; like me, you still live at home hence the "Highschool" part.

Lol I don't think I would pick an FC to lean back on if my 240 breaks! They're usually more work in themselves than a 240. But they do sound sooooooo nice!

But yeah, if you're looking for a reliable second car, get something practical like an accord/civic.

If thats your car in your sig, lower it and get wheels, with a GOOD offset.
