Well i finally got some cash and i wanna spend it on my baby. I have been having trouble wityh my motor but it should last for atleast another 4 to 6 months as it has a rod knock that really is just barely noticeable. so i dont wanna spend my cash on the motor just yet... Ive got $3500 to spend and i have decided the first thing im gonna do is get me a Wings West full Body kit. I do have a business license so am looking to get a discount on the body kit. Any pointers on where i should get the body kit from? My car is pretty much stock but due to the engine problem i dont wanna really mess with the motor right now. Am really just focusing on the looks. So any other suggestions? I have been thinking about installing the Lambo door conversion what do u guys think of lambo doors on a Z?

I fell in love with the Wings west body kit after viewing some photos in the gallery of fellow Z enthusiasts who had the kit. Im having trouble deciding whether or not to keep the TT spoiler when i get the new kit. I like the way Nsrz32's looks with the custom spoiler.. which to choose?!!!! lol

jeeeeez. lol i have talked to more than a handful of mechanics all saying the motor will run fine for about another 6 months... why not just use it up to its fullest? if u think about it in a weird way im actually saving miles on the new motor by holding out. Im not planning on blowing the whole $3500. i will have more flexibility with cash in the coming months and will then buy the motor.

Well, being that I am baised towards performance, I always say engine first. Please don't take my suggestion to heart though. Its just opinion. I would say go with something thats ultimately going to make you happy in the long run. Think about it though. If you fix the knock you can save yourself a **** ton of moolaw! If you replace the engine as a whole, then you will have spare parts from the engine now(which is a good thing) that you may need later, or use the engine pieces as cores for upgrades. On the ohter hand, you can wait until you throw a rod through the block or pistion and risk worse damge.

Go mods first. Show mods second

Also, please please please don't do Lambo doors.

The wings west body kit is a great choice though for when you do body mods.

I also feel that nissan got the styling right the first time around, I think body kits, big wings adn cavalier doors just detract from masterpiece nissan created

i agree with performance before cosmetics. first i will make a suggestion, then i will ramble.

my suggestion is rebuild the engine yourself with forged internals. that way you fix the current problem, AND allow yourself to run higher boost levels later, which is inevitable for anyone with the need for speed. i wouldln't buy a whole new motor, though if you did that and sold the old one cheap it would big a good deal for some lucky Z32 owner. but that doesn't help you any.

rambling: i just got my TT Z32 and don't have any money left. the front bumper body kit piece is cracking and doesn't fit right, the drivers side ttop has a dent in it, and the front side fenders are torn where you bolt the corner of the front piece to. not visible unless you really look at it.

my plans are to fix all of that crap, but before i do that i am going to rebuild the engine, put bigger turbos on, get bigger intercoolers, boost controller, boost gauge.

first i have to fix the trivial mechanical bugs but the point is, given the choice, i'd rather walk the walk then talk the talk.

it's a personal preference though.

I'd fix/replace the motor first

As everyone else has already stated, go for fixing the problems you have right now instead of spending all the money on cosmetic goods. It is so annoying to see a nice looking car run like crap.

And, DO NOT get lambo doors, they look horrible.

thanks for all ur suggestions but i have already got the kit and will be recieving it shorly... U guys arent gonna kick me out of the club are ya lol but hey i will end up spending only 1300 for the kit, installation, and paint. so im now at about $2,200. I got lucky and also sold a car today.. (im an autobroker on the side.. well not officially ) so now im at $4200 and will now be getting a new motor before i end up doing something stupid with the money.

By the way are any of u guys interested in the stock body parts left over after i put in the new kit?

I will be selling the:Front bumper( was just installed about 3 months ago in excellent shape)side skirtsRear bumper

oh and i also have another front bumper that is cracked but is repairable.

p.s i will have some recent pics of my car up tomorrow so u will also be able to see the shape of the parts listed above

you got a good amount of play with 4200... but id definitely fix whats wrong with the car first... whats good is a car that looks fast but sits in the driveway? then stick to the basics and work your way up... i;'ve found that the best way to work on cars is to take care of one whole "area" at a time... dont just do the exhaust... do the exhaust, intake, and headers. right right?
