Got Resonator?????

hi all, simple question here, does our car (s14) comes with resonator?

Yep. I know because I ended up removing mine when it rusted all the way through and replaced it with a 2 1/2" aluminum pipe! Going to get the exhaust back to stock ASAP!!

yup yup... you can see it if you look under your car. It looks like a smaller muffler in the middle of the exhaust system.

its just for sound deadening purposes, not emissions. so its just going to be louder.

Wow your question brings back memories. Anyhow I have a hotshot header which eliminates the downpipe and a 3" Apexi N1 exhaust. I left the CAT looking thingy on mine which was hollow but it made a droning sound at like 3000rpms so I replaced it with a straight test pipe and now it sounds so much better! The noise level went up a few decibels but it was worth it!

what high flow resonator would you recommend? i want to go the 'stock' route.

i guess i'll go with a bigger pipe from the cat, a high flow resonator then a not so loud muffler.

yuh, i am about to get my exhaust completely redone with a hotshot header and new muffler and i was thinking it would be way too loud to not add a high flow resonator to the mix so i would also like suggestions on what kind to get
