Kid in early 90's blazer hit me from behind going probably a little less than 10 mph. Pretty rough hit, not too much damage scuff on bumper, pushed up a little under the lights, lights are fine, trunk rattles. and where the bumper meets the rear quarter panel poped out a little on one side. Foam is cracked. Anyone have a similar experience? I'm going to the body shop friday to get a quote and then the guy is gonna pay me for the damage. Hardly any damage done to this guys car, but i don't have to pay for it so it's alright, just a little hassle.

The same thing happened to me with a 1982 Suburban, he was going about 10mph or less. The damage didn't look too bad, but when I went to get an estimate, the first one was $3,000!! I had to beg State Farm not to total my car cause I have put alot of money into it, so they fixed and I just got it back yesterday :) But the reason it was so much money was because when I got hit, it bend the floor pan where the spare tire goes, so watch out for that, they had to replace my whole rear body panel. See, in this pic you can't really even see too much damage.

I got bumped from behind by a kid going less than 5mph. Put a ding in the very bottom of my bumper where his license plate screw hit. Estimate was $431.19

getting rear ended costs a lot to get fixed because the car usually has to get on the rack to be fixed. But the $3000 is for the PERFECT fix. usually replaces trunk, bumper both rear quarter panels and paint. Although damage may not be easily noticeable it's there. pull up the trunk carpet and look for tiny folds in the metal. Usually a rattle in the trunk after an accident is a big sign that says more damage then you realize. Pull off that rear bumper and look at the damage that's done...you'll be surprised.

i got rear ended on the highway at over 130km/hr. Slammed into the center median and a guard rail, very lucky to be alive today. The little fag who rear ended me took off, I had no collision at the time, yeah, I was screwed. Car was written off, on my 2nd 240sx, consider yourself lucky.
