Got rear-ended. Didn't get pooped on this time at least.

I was pulling out of the parking lot at school on to the main road when I got a really hard thump from a blue Cavalier. It was enough for my seat belt to catch me and keep my head from hitting the wheel. I shook my head, threw my arms up, and got out.

Amusingly, she asked me "Whats a Saab?" She pronounced Saab in a way that rhymed with "cab". Apparently the company has done a poor job of marketing to youth.

Image
Bumper got pushed in. Its hard to see from this angle but its quite uneven now.

Image
Her bumper was shoved back a couple inches, hard to tell from this photo.

Image
Got her picture... I dunno... in case she was a gypsy? She's a 20 year old junior. Very nice person, apologetic, easy to deal with.

We stood around waiting for the police while talking about country music (she's a Brad Paisley fan, I mentioned that I was planning on seeing George Strait in Nashville), past accidents I've been in, long commutes, and undergrad life. Had a very pleasant chat, actually. [She's engaged.]

Image
Took a report, filed a claim, and went home.

I'm dropping my car off at the body shop and getting my rental car on the 31st. I have a feeling I'll be stuck in a Dodge Caliber. Hopefully nothing underneath the plastic or foam is damaged.

LoL at you throwing you hands up. Glad you're alright again man. Doesn't look like a serious crash, and hey, you might be a rebound lay for the chick if you two stay in touch!

Hope you get a Mazda3 and you can do a review. I'm eagerly awaiting your judgement on my car, previous model and current. :D

Next time try to get rear-ended by a hot single chick who will pay for the damages in sexual favors. You're doing it wrong so far.

Sorry to hear about the car though, and the getting stuck with a rental part.

Why? He should be honored that such fine pants even touched his bedroom floor, let alone his girl. :gotme

Vert on Vert sucky-f***!!!
Sucks about Ducky Jesda. I had a calibur in Chattanooga when I went for my interview with Volkswagen. As soon as you get past the fact that its the most epic POS on US roads, you can have some fun with it, and exploit that fact that its the most epic POS. Bonus points if you get the god-awful CVT.

You gotta wonder what they were thinking. "We need a truly awful transmission to go with this alarmingly awful car".

why do you have a Saab?
At least it wasn't a 40mph rear end hit, so you're fine.
what do you think caused her to rear end you? Admiring her ring glowing in the midday sun? wondering what a saab was and not realizing the brake lights were illuminated? Changing out her brad paisley CD? and why do you have a Saab?

I agree with better minds listed above. She got you in the rear -- you need to return the favor...it's the polite thing to do.

Glad you are okay, and Ducky can be rebuilt. They have the technology. He'll be stronger, faster, better.

as long as the doors still open ok and the quarter skin isn't wrinkled it'll be fine. that looks like it'll just need the bumper doodled with.

I almost wrecked one in Bradenton. I smeared an armadillo all over the road, those effers are damn slippery.
