I got pulled over a few nights ago for speeding. The police officer asked me how fast I was going. My V1 didn't go off so I figured what he doesn't know can't hurt him, and I told him 60 in a 50 because if I told him I was doing the speed limit, he'd know I was full of ****. (actually doing about 80 and a car doing 80 in a 50 definetly doesn't look like it's doing the limit) Anyway, he was very cool about it, and let me off with a "loud exhaust" ticket. Weird thing is, I have to show up to court? Why do I have to show up to court over a loud exhaust? I recently had welding work done to the muffler by mineake after I got the ticket, maybe if I show them the reciept I'll get out of that too? Very cool cop, and If I never got the redlight, he would have never caught me because it took him a while to show up;) Crown vics got nothin on my 240!

(I rarely speed, this was just one of those nights you wanted to be home as quickly as possible and sleep, stoped me right infront of my house)

That sucks. They probably would let you off if you fixed it and showed them a reciept.

Call the court. See if they want you to do anything before you go in or bring anything in with you. But if they say to show, up, make sure you show up. If you are brought in on a bench warrant for any reason, the judge will likely make it hard on you.

Well, It's over and I paid the ticket. I don't think it was a fix it ticket, and when I went to the court room they said "you pay $44 at the front desk" On the ticket there is an actual court date and time, so that was weird.

Saving for an RS-R exhaust, and ultimatly an sr20det. I figure it's cheaper to do sr20det because not only is it a few hundred less than a turbo ka, but my engine/transmission (manual) has low miles so I could probably sell it for nearly a grand aswell. Anyway, lets not start this into an sr vs. ka thread, so it can be closed, it's over.

Good to know it was only $44.

It really helps to know what state you are discussing because the law differs from state to state with these type of questions.

for traffic infractions in CA, the officer writes a court date ("appear on or before this date") but if you read the back of the ticket carefully, you only have to show up if you decide not to fight it (aka plead guilty). In that case, you pay the full bail amount and you can just mail that in. If you want to fight the ticket, the crime is a misdemeanor/felony, then you must show in court.
