Got pulled over

I have all of the windows on me 06 G35X tinted. In Illinois it is illegal to have the front drivers and passenger side windows tinted but everybody does it anyways. Well on the way to work monday morning a county sheriff with nothing better to do pulled me over for illegal tints. The fine is $75. Because I don't have a bond card he took my license. I sent in the fine, but I am contemplating whether to take the tint off the front side windows. Illinois allows any shade of tint on the rear and back side windows. There are only 5 states that do not allow tint on the front sides and I happen to live in one of them. By the way the car is twilight blue with a wheat interior.

that sucks dude...i feel your pain, Georgia has a low ratio for tint. sucks!

actually georgias tint law was thrown out for a while...dunno if its back in effect or not

i would get in trouble in illinois cause i have 15% on the front

A cop once said I could get cited for it, but he was just there to give us a hard time since some residents in the area were complaining. But I figure if I do ever get cited I'll remove the tint, have it written off and put it back on. A local tint shop normally does this, but I just heard the building was recently torn down and I don't know if they opened up elsewhere.

Kwik... are you speaking of Mike's Tint that was on Beach Blvd in Buena Park? (I grew up about a mile from there). If so, they are now located in Orange:

It was my understanding that if you got a ticket, they would pay for removal, and re-installation one time. (If you got the work done there initially)

No problem guys. I had gone looking for the shop after hearing about them on a BMW forum, but by the time I got there, the business was closed. Found the new address online.

yea the tint limit in maryland is 35% almost same as stock mine was already tinted when i bought it, it passed inspection so mines not that dark anyways

I just got my G35 tinted. The color was called Cop Killer Black. I wonder if that is legal????

I live in IL as well sux, riding my z with no front plates, keeps the curves nice, running a risk, but not as much as tinted windows, lots of gangbangers cappin cops through tinted windows i guess..

take em off and keep up with your g payments
