I got mine finally on Sat. afternoon. Versa S with auto, abs, cruise and power package. I bought it as my no frills daily driver. And boy was I wrong about the no frills part. This thing is surprisingly fun to drive. I was expecting to be a boring, dog slow ride, but not so! I'm completely impressed and smitten by what Nissan created for under $15k. Now that's serious testimony from someone who is used to 300+ hp European and Japanese cars. And it's not biased opinion because I work on advertising for Nissan either. This car is just great!

Here are some pics along with the daily beater 95 Pathfinder I traded: http://web.mac.com/felonious.m....html

The weekend ride: http://homepage.mac.com/feloni...2.JPG

Now the questions, I don't have a service manual and I'm wonder how hard it is to change the speakers out of the doors...

EDIT: never mind, found the info via search!

Thanks.

PS -- Those of you in SoCal or greater LA area should check out Cars & Coffee at Ford's PAG campus on Saturday mornings. It's worth attending at least once if you're into cars. http://web.mac.com/felonious.m....html

She looks great! Get a Strut bar and you'll see the body roll considerably reduced. I'm keeping mine stock for fuel econ issues, but I will be lowering it soon and getting some 19"s for handling. Then I can keep up with Bimmers and Porsches through the canyons!! (At least in the turns) Your Z3 look beautiful as well, I wanted one but I have my posse to think about, so i got my "G". That car show that you posted the link to, is that at the PAG campus? That green Porsche is killer as well as the Fiat dino and the others, I haven't seen one of those in years. I'll have to bring my Porsche to that show when it's finished.

Odd. I haven't noticed much body roll. Not enough to be a bother anyway. And I have pushed it. Mine will be kept pretty stock I think. Maybe a set of wheels at the most... Or not. All depends on what the Cube looks like once it comes later this year.

Quote »I'm keeping mine stock for fuel econ issues, but I will be lowering it soon and getting some 19"s for handling.
I could be wrong, but I think 19"s are completely wrong for handling. Plus, your fuel economy will take a hit. A very light set of 17" wheels will be a good compromise between looks and handling. Handling doesn't have that much to do with your wheel size. Side wall stiffness and rubber compound make all the difference. 17" wheels with 45 series sidewall will give you both comfort and handling. The wider width (typically 7" for 17" wheels) will however give you more rolling resistance than stock. So you will probably see a slight decline in fuel economy. 19" wheels are far too large and heavy for such a small motor. If you had a blower and pushing over 200hp, then by all means. Otherwise, I'd steer clear.

Quote »Then I can keep up with Bimmers and Porsches through the canyons!! (At least in the turns) Your Z3 look beautiful as well
Thanks. It's a 2001 M based on the Z3 chassis. S54 3.2L engine from the E46 M3 pumping out 315HP, 7k redline (8k for the M3) and 11.5:1 compression ratio. It's a little demon. Mine is chipped and has twin Supersprint cat-back.

I like the dark grey over the metallic that I have. I see that you didn't stray very far from the Pathfinder color!! What % tint do you have on the windows? That's something that I'm going to do to decrease the heating of the interior. What's Ford's PAG campus - Pacific . . . ?

I have no idea what percentage tint that is. The dealer sold the car we had a deal on and had to trade one of their other cars with another dealer at the last minute and the other dealer had tinted the rear windows and put on some after market rims to basically bling it up... since I already had a deal worked out with my dealer, they didn't add any $ for the tint. I will probably tint the front windows a little so the difference isn't so big. I'll ask my tint guy then. He can probably tell what it is by just looking at it.

Are shorter shocks required for lowering springs? I know it is for most cars, same for the V? Bob's office is actually minutes from where I work. He's got some stuff I wouldn't mind picking up (fog light kit) but I'll wait till I get some bills and other projects out of the way first.

The parking lot is Cooke's Market in El Segundo. Go early in the AM or late night and no one bothers you.

The ride will be a little stiffer, but the driving has improved a lot - no more body rolls. I installed mine and won't go back There are a lot of posts about lowering spring - Bulld0g has a good "do-it-yourself" and I also add some comments. Just use the Search... button
